Floyd had a lot of stuff going for him going into the JMM fight. JMM was coming off a come from behind KO victory FOTY against Diaz. Which helped JMM fan base grow. Floyd was coming off an 18 month layoff people was tuning in to see How would he be after that long layoff... He got helped by a 24/7 that JMM made very entertaining and got out the word out there by drinking piss. It had helped by GBP promoting the hell out of that even... The date of the fight helped a lot. If you think that Floyd did that by himself you are delusional...

What fan base does Clottey have? Where is his cult following? So do say 500k is terrible it boggles my mind... When you realize how much revenue and money comes from 500k buys is not a flop at all...

It's not that simple, you can't compare figures in ABSOLUTE terms when the PPV events happened in different times.

At this day and age, when a lot more people have easy access to order PPV stuff, a fight between a prime Tyson and a prime Holyfield would've garnered approximately 3-3.5million buys.

Nevertheless, with only a Countdown show, I'd predict this fight to have approximately 400K-600K PPV buys.

I think I would know the facts more so than you, I was watching the fight that night. It was a GBP PPV.

So I contacted HBO, which is distributing the fight on pay-per-view, and I was told that the fight is simply not available in HD.
