The date of the fight helped a lot. If you think that Floyd did that by himself you are delusional...

What fan base does Clottey have? Where is his cult following? So do say 500k is terrible it boggles my mind... When you realize how much revenue and money comes from 500k buys is not a flop at all...
but i thought Pac was the biggest draw in the sport? The fight is at texas stadium, he is P4P # 1...he is a bigger draw than Floyd right?...so why should it matter if Clottey has a cult following or not?

500 K from 1.2 is ****ing horrendous man...stop tryna justify the inevitable....

          PACQUIAO alone 1.4

FLOYD vs dance partner JMM 1.0

If XYLOCAINE MAN is such a big draw then why did HBO tell him to step out of MARCH 13 date cuz PACQUIAO is fighting CLOTTEY?

You forgot that GBP come out first with MARCH 13 date, not BOB ARUM and GBP&XYLOCAINE MAN backed out of MARCH 13 date cuz NUMBER 1 PPV star PACQUIAO is fighting on that date.

30 minutes seems like enough time for this fight.

At this day and age, when a lot more people have easy access to order PPV stuff, a fight between a prime Tyson and a prime Holyfield would've garnered approximately 3-3.5million buys.

Nevertheless, with only a Countdown show, I'd predict this fight to have approximately 400K-600K PPV buys.
                  that's for damn sure!

and Mayweather did over a million with Marquez after a 2 year layoff and after Marquez had the worst PPV on HBO in 2008 doing 100K.....

if your a PPV star you remain one.....

500K for a guy of Pac's caliber at this stageof his career is terrible...
Marquez vs Casamayor was not on HBO PPV.

I think I would know the facts more so than you, I was watching the fight that night. It was a GBP PPV.

As I tried to order the pay-per-view of Saturday night's lightweight title fight between champion Joel Casamayor and challenger Juan Manuel Marquez, I noticed something disturbing: I couldn't find it in high-definition.

So I contacted HBO, which is distributing the fight on pay-per-view, and I was told that the fight is simply not available in HD. The fight is not an HBO production -- HBO is just working with the promoters as a distributor -- and the promoters, Golden Boy Promotions, have apparently decided to cut costs by only offering the fight in standard definition.
