lol floyd woulda shoulda coulda but floyd will never ever step in the ring against cotto.I don`t think Cotto would have been all that.Loaded gloves or not he struggled against a Margarito who punches like he`s under water.Margarito may be the slowest fighter i`ve ever seen.
Cotto also almost got knocked out by Mosley,Go watch the fight again and you`ll see that the Puerto Rican ref saved Cotto from a knockout. He tried to claim the floor was wet.THAT WAS THE REF LOOKING OUT FOR HIS FELLOW PUERTO RICAN.And alot of people had that fight a draw.
Cotto also struggled with Clottey and it was a fight many people had a draw. And Cotto fought a Judah who confidence was gone as a result of all those losses.Had Judah let his hands go alot more i believe he would have knocked Cotto out.
And don`t even ask what Floyd would have done to himComment

Very well said. Great description.Cotto is one of the best of this era. I have a huge amount of respect for him.
He just doesn't have fanboys because he is a fighters fighter, an old school guy. I don't care if he's starting to slide now, I'll never forget about the dude and how good he was.
He also had a great style that made me always think of him as a Puerto Rican Jake LaMotta. He would come in crouching like a bull using the jab and belting you to the body. He had great balance. He wasn't a quick fighter, but when he got warmed up he was a punching machine. Defensively, he moved just enough to nullify the damage, always staying close enough to return fire and win exchanges.
Also he always had great sportsmanship, was humble, **** ya gotta be a fan of the guy.Comment

Pretty much. Dude should be 0-36 to be honest. He lost all the rounds of his career on my scorecard but the Ricans gave him gifts. All those KO's and TKO's were because the dudes slipped and could not continue.Comment

mojita this is a good answer my dudeCotto could have been great. The best Cotto I ever witnessed was the first few rounds during the Margarito fight. He was so confident, in great shape and his skills were really out that night. Then Marg took over and broke him down but even during the fight turn around Cotto was still fighting back landing nice shots.
I think he cracked Margs chin that night and also took something away from him physically.
He was really a up and coming great who ran into a cheater imo. Had he beat Marg and not been cheated, he could have been pound for pound king. But thats life.
Hes not the same, his confidence is gone, his skills looks dimished, wheres the body shots? And losing his uncle as a trainer sealed any future hope.
Hes still good now but not the same Cotto.Comment
