[QUOTE=bigboss1;7321436]''i think cotto and mayweather were the two greatest fighters of this generation'' - Paul Malignaggi

that's what paulie said and he also mentioned how cotto could have been one of the best fighters ever to come out of puerto rico if it wasn't for margarito cheating. i also ask myself the same thing, if he would have beat margarito and not took such a brutal beating he would possibly be #1 p4p fighter in the world. and if he had fought mayweather.. the fight everyone wanted to see, and manage to beat him.. he could have gone down as the greatest fighter of our generation.

so i ask you how great do you think he could have been?

If not were for that cheater's plaster, he would have beaten DLH next, who was waiting for him. That's for sure.

I have to agree, and i still believe Cotto will be back stronger and better. I also hope that Cotto gets a chance to fight Floyd, if that happens, my money is on Cotto.

I rerember the the night of the gomez fight when margs stoped cintron on a body shot and it was like cotto was like alright i'll show u i can do the same damn thing antonio. I was so amped up for that fight more then the pac fight. After that fight I was just amazed in both fighters, both guts and determination, but someone wasn't playing on a level field. It's a shame because I rerember the f'n plan for top rank when they had mayweather still was for cotto and mayweather to fight. I still say cotto's best fight was the mosley fight. Miguel Cotto could have been a very special fighter, but he will never be forgotten because of all the wars and his mentality to fight anyone anywhere and his shear humbleness inside and outside of the ring. If this is the last year of his career, we as boxing fans should support his last two fights and enjoy them because there hasn't been more of a warrior and embassador of the sport then miguel junito cotto. Thanks champ and I'll be there in June when you destroy Yuri Foreman
Nice inputs buddy.. don't you worry, I feel Cotto will bounce back strong.
The Foreman fight will be his second win. And besides, he is great with or
without the Margarito lost. Cotto will be a HOF in the future, i'll bet on this
one. I just hope he make his resume more solid so he can break into the
Ring ATG list..and a title and a streak of defenses in 154 division would
                help him a lot..

Cotto took on all comers, and despite the losses still wants to fight. You cannot but respect that kind of heart.

If more fighters were like Cotto there wouldn't all this bull**** to make fights happen. Cotto would fight anyone and that's the way all fighters should be.

Cotto was at the cusp of superstardom until that piece of **** Plasterito took it all away from him. Foreman will be a good start for him to get back on track.

I think he is a great fighter regardless. Guy has the heart of a lion and doesn't duck anybody. It was a crime what happened to him on the Margarito fight. He may not be an All Time Great right now, but if he gets reunited with his Uncle in the wake of his father's death and they train they way they did when he was coming up, watch out. But, IMO opinion he is still a great fighter. I have huge amounts of repsect for Cotto
