          Compare that pendejo.
The vacant title thing is ******ed.

And that's not a valid comparison because of time spent in the divisions.

Floyd moved up quick. Cotto has planted his feet in the two divisions.

You can just as easily argue that at least Cotto didn't move up, beat up on a few bums, and than leave the division before fighting a live soul.

I mean don't get me wrong.....Floyd>>>>>Cotto no doubt. But give the guy some credit, and get away from the Vacant title bull****. That argument is so tired and groundless.

Oktay Urkal - Solid tough fighter.

Zab Judah - Former lineal WW champ and Cotto beat him worse than Mayweather.

Shane Mosley - HOF, enough said.

Alfonso Gomez - A bum that Cotto dominated.

Antonio Margarito - Top WW at the time and a guy no one wanted to fight.

Michael Jennings - A bum Cotto dominated.

Joshua Clottey - Top 5 WW and Cotto beat him with a huge cut on his eye.

Manny Pacquiao - #1 P4P fighter that was on a roll at the time Cotto faced him

              Margarito top names

              Mosley
              Cotto
              Cintron
              Williams
              Clottey

Cintron or Williams better than Pacquiao? No! I would also put Judah as a better fighter than Cintron so I think Cotto faced better opposition.

Carlos Quintana is an underrated boxer in my opinion BUT his only decent win is against an overhyped Williams.

              Urkal sucks
Judah has talent but when does he ever use it??

Margarito also has at WW.....Martinez, Randall, Lewis, Diaz, etc. PLUS more than 7 defense titles. Cotto may be a more "skilled" boxer in the movement department but he isn't better than Margs at WW. He isn't going to do much either at 154.

You are trying to get away from my beef against posters who take the vacant titles of Cotto as something to nitpick. Cotto took vacant titles at JWW and WW. So, it would be fair to compare Pbf because he took titles from champions at JWW and WW ... not vacant ones. I'm not trying to take anything away from Floyd because clearly ... base on entire resumes Floyd >>> Cotto.

Picking between Tony and Cotto's resumes at WW is like splitting hairs.

The two are clearly the two best WW's of the decade. Who's number one is all about preference IMO.

The two's resume's at Welter are SICK.

I consider him to be the best welterweight of the last decade so I'd say yes.

I know some people don't like this comparison, but Cotto reminds me of Ottke in a lotta ways. Would he have really won his most meaningful fights if he had to fight them outside of his comfort zone? That is the comparison that I think of. I'm not saying Cotto was protected like Ottke was. But to say he didn't receive preferential treatment like getting away with low blowing Zab Judah and having one or two judges give him a 4 point margin in the Clottey and Mosley decisions is not being real. That is what I talk about when I bring up favoratism.

We also might not have had to wait until Shane Mosley has gray hairs on his Go T to fight Floyd if those judges gave him the decision that he deserved over Junito.
