yeah this is the biggest thing of his career, but it went downhill after the margo fight, he mentally broke down. he was awesome against Judah and great against Mosley, never turned down a challenge, always been gracious and serious. he was strong, good timing, smart fighter and courageous. i hope he keeps going to make a great HOF-worthy career, i think he can be added right now too though, so i voted yes.

Cotto hasn't accomplished enough to be a HoF. He cheats to beat Zab. Thanks to the location he gets a decision over Clottey. His best fight is a split decision that could have gone either way against Shane. He got blasted by Margo, ducked P-Will and Cintron, never fought Floyd, and got TKO'd by Manny.

He is a pretty good resume at 140, but he didn't stay there long enough and fight enough top comp.

Cotto is a lock HoFer is you ask me. Great fighter with a great resume.

Margarito ****ed him though. Mentally, he put it over Cotto, you can see it on Margs face after he hurt Cotto in the 7th round "You are nothing, you cannot hurt me, you are my *****" And Cotto submitted and was broken. The physical damage was bad but the mental damage was much worse.

Cotto got beaten down and humiliated by a bigger, stronger man who took his shots, he never fully recovered mentally, and it was amazing he managed to squeak out the W vs Clottey.

In the Pacman fight, Cotto started out brilliantly, then Manny was taking his shots, drew Cotto into exchanges and hurt him, Cotto was seeing Margarito's face on Manny's, then the backpedelling started and I knew it was all over.

I hope Miguel can beat Yuri at 154 and get 3 weight class honours, he really deserves that, then one more big fight, then the rest of his life to be with family and live of the good money he has made.

                Cotto is a HOF imo.

Cottos record stands at 34-2-0 27KOs

He holds wins over Mosley (UD12), Clottey (SD12), Judah (TKO11), Quintana (RTD5), Malignaggi (UD12).

Another notable wins include Torres (KO7), Corley (TKO5), Ndou (UD12) and Bailey (TKO6).

He is a former two time welterweight champ and a two division champ (140 and 147)

His first loss to Antonio Margarito (TKO11) has a huge question mark over it because Margarito was banned one fight later because a illegal plaster substance was found in his handwraps before his fight with Shane Mosley, he would later go on to lose the fight in devestating fashion and was stopped for the first time.

His second loss was to the best fighter of the last decade in Manny Pacquiao so no shame there. Cottos fight with Pacquiao was stopped by the referee in the 12th round.

Yeah man, that was the worst actually, to actually see Cotto, who really epitomized fearlessness, to get flustered and all that. but getting hit with those shots was THAT bad, i guess..

he is a borderline HOF'er for now..

if he will retire now, I feel he won't make it..
but if he'll continue fighting, regardless of
who he beats as long he wins a few more,
he will be a lock HOF'er..

                    but i voted YES..
