He is doing the right thing. Sports is secondary when compared to real world problems.

the people who are critizing Berto are *******. He needs to take care of home first then boxing. My prayers are with his family and all of Haiti.

Andre Berto is a terrific boxer but he is a human being first. As a man he has an obligation to his family and in my opinion his head and heart are in the right place. I just lost my grandfather just last week so I know as well as anyone that tommorow isn't promised to any of us and understand the importance of family being there for one another in a time of crisis. Andre, boxing will be there when you are ready to return. Now just isn't the right time and as fans we just have to understand that. Andre Berto is showing his mettle as a man which supercedes anything that can be accomplished in the ring. Wishing Berto and his family God speed and plenty of prayers. You would have to be a truly shallow person not to understand that he is doing what he should be doing by putting 1st things 1st. He has his priorities in order and we can all learn alot from him in that respect.

Family first for Berto, good for him. as long as he is still active, opportunities will come knocking again.

              Fck you Al Haymon.

              Haiti is no excuse.

He still had 2 weeks until the fight to get focused.

Ditching the fight this late is ****** and it's clear it was at the suggestion of Al Haymon so that Floyd can fight Mosely.
but its okay to dodge the biggest fight of the past 20 years becuz u dont want to take RANDOM blood tests?

Thats fine with me! we get a fight the public has been clamoring for and everybody gets fed! Thats the way it should be. And the young gun gets to keep his belt without that cloud of tragedy hanging over his head.

Why is it so hard for some of you to understand that just because the ground is not still shaking that Haiti is still far from being in the clear? Turn off ESPN or Cartoon Network(for you kids) and turn on CNN and learn something.
