There's a legit comparison there for you.

some ppl on this forum most be ******ed for real. theres no way u can make a good argument berto was wrong for pulling out. boxing is 95% mental, u need to be 100% focused on boxing to perform on fight night. theres no way his mind will be on boxing with all this going on. also just worrying 24/7 makes u feel weak and tired like he said.

ppl who call this a duck are spoiled and sheltered little kids who never faced any sort of adversity in their lifes, and thats why they cant relate to what berto is going thru. im caribbean aswell, and about a year ago we had some political **** going down in both martinique and guadeloupe leading to violent riots. u just dont feel right when u know that **** going on back home. ofcourse natural disasters in the past aswell, im an amateur boxer and i wouldnt get in the ring with stuff like that on my mind. i certainly wouldnt fight the fight of my life as a pro putting my undefeated record and world title on the line against one of the best ever if i wasnt mentally 100% focused on boxing.. like bertos situation.

Boxing is such a mental sport you have to be all in it physically and metally. Haiti has been leveled and the whole country is affected. I support Berto and my prayers are with the Haitian ppl. Can't be ignorant of the fact of the devastation.

the word of this thread is selfish

some of yall I swear I'm in here smh my head as I read.

I said as soon as the quake hit that berto might have to back out b/c I know when katrina hit my city a fight wasn't optional. My focus was strictly on my city.

                    Good move by Berto!

He needs to take the time to make sure his family is alright after what happened in Haiti.

On another note, this may be a boxing blessing in disquise. We may now get the fight that I have been waiting for... Shane vs Floyd!! Its amazing how things work out...
