Floyd was a hall of fame fighter the moment he left 135, all this other nonsense started when getting fights at 140 proved to be very difficult, he basically whored himself to make money and it worked.

Drawing Power is Drawing Power, unless you can take a poll and unless you can grade that poll, the only way to tell someones fanbase is to judge them by their PPV buyrate in most instances.

You cant truely know a fanbase beyond that. Weather it was fans or non fans who order a PPV with a high buyrate, how can you know who is who?

Second of all, i am black, i am telling you right now, mayweather and judah are the two most popular fighters among blacks,with mosley probably a distant third. In the hood, those two names resonate.

Basically to me, having a fanbase means ****all when in reality, what matters are numbers. Numbers dictate that mayweather does well on PPV. With no real way to distinguish who is a fan and who isnt, you have to assume he draws based on the numbers. But to argue who has a fanbase and trying to divert it to some strawman like "WELL MAYWEATHER DOESNT HAVE A FANBASE"

Miguel Cotto has a fanbase, yet on average, only had 2 good PPVs out of close to the 10 he was on. Drawing power is what matters in this sport. Fanbases vary, but drawing power is what matters more than anything.

Even arturo gatti who had a tremendous fanbase, almost never was on PPV, yet never drew like floyd on PPV and never made the money floyd made.

I can say the same thing about LeBron James. The guy is ****y, arrogant, rude, and a jerk, but he gets away with things because he is one of the best players in the NBA. You can get away with certain things if you're very good at your craft.
