You cant truely know a fanbase beyond that. Weather it was fans or non fans who order a PPV with a high buyrate, how can you know who is who?

Did you think the marquez PPV would do 1 million before the fight?

NO, You didint. Did marquez ever come close to 1million before the mayweather fight?

    NO he didint.

    Did mayweather? yes.

How do we know who was going for mayweather and who wasnt?

We dont. The distinction between who is a fan of who and who isnt, who the *** knows.

Also, you talking about "roy jones has the biggest fanbase among african americans" LMAO. First of all, and ill say this without a doubt, Mayweather is a MUCH bigger name than jones ever was, because Jones even in his prime as superman, never drew like mayweather did, on PPV or in the mainstream.

Second of all, i am black, i am telling you right now, mayweather and judah are the two most popular fighters among blacks, with mosley probably a distant third. In the hood, those two names resonate.

Basically to me, having a fanbase means ****all when in reality, what matters are numbers. Numbers dictate that mayweather does well on PPV. With no real way to distinguish who is a fan and who isnt, you have to assume he draws based on the numbers. But to argue who has a fanbase and trying to divert it to some strawman like "WELL MAYWEATHER DOESNT HAVE A FANBASE"

Miguel Cotto has a fanbase, yet on average, only had 2 good PPVs out of close to the 10 he was on. Drawing power is what matters in this sport. Fanbases vary, but drawing power is what matters more than anything.

Even arturo gatti who had a tremendous fanbase, almost never was on PPV, yet never drew like floyd on PPV and never made the money floyd made.

What im trying to tell you is that people like you are what make floyd who he is. Youre childish avatar and youre daily discussion, along with the rest of you "fans" help him.

And im still disgusted that you pac fans would even have that racist ass avatar, that **** is disgusting IMO. I dont mind any other avatar, but that KFC **** is a ****ing shame. I dont care what the message is supposed to be, putting a black american on the KFC logo is unacceptable, period.
    Thank you

All that KFC avatar does is win Floyd more fans because the blacks that liked Pac more feel the need to defend themselves as well as their fighter.

Faulty comparison. It assumes Floyd produces quality fights the way Prince produces quality music.

Floyd is a dud inside the ring.
People used to be pissed when they waited for a fight paid good money and Tyson ended the **** in the first round.

Anderson Silva is the most dominate fighter in the UFC and he still gets hate. Anderson is also very polite and people still call him cocy. A.Silva's best friend is also Asian Machida and he's boring as hell but gets more love than Silva.

Rashad Evans is very polite and his best friend is white (Keith Jardine) and Matt Hughes the ****iest person in the UFC at the time called him ****y because he beat his friend Mike Whitehead and to this day people are photo-shopping his 1 loss ko.

Rampage is a dumg nicca in every sense of the word he's groped reporters and had a hit & run incident last year and people love him. Rampage is also a fuccin dog in the ring. Oh but Page smartens up and decides to skip a fight to do a movie and all of a sudden he's ducking Machida or Evans.
Anybody that knows MMA knows he's a legend.

People hated Ali until 10 years after his retirement except for black folks.

It's like this forum, all threads that have well balanced arguements and put forward good points get shut down, but the ones with all the ****** accusations and insults go for 20 pages.

Say what you feel or what you know, Am not american and am not close to getting the reasons why all those names i mentioned dont get a lot of talk or a better drawing power than Mayweather.

Want proof it worked? Look at youre avatar.

Lewinsky was not a distinguished politician with many accomplishments before she got caught in the scandal.

Huerta was not a 10 year veteran in the sport, with multiple championships to his name before that cover.

Lets be real ShadyFizzle, you spend more time discussing floyd then fans like me do. You are in every floyd thread. When you see floyd, you click, you read, you post.

Now fans like me who have defended him endlessly, that erractic behavoir is expected, but for someone who hates him, someone who feels he has nothing to offer the sport, someone who is such a *****, a chiken etc,

              you

              1. Have him in youre avatar
              2. Talk about him literally everyday (need i look at youre post history?)
              3. Discuss anything related to him, particularly the negative, literally everyday
              4. YOU HAVE HIM IN YOURE AVATAR

Like i said, i am no better, i have spent 6 years discussing him in various ways angles, sometimes i agree with him, someitmes i dont, but i am his fan. You? For all the disgust you have for him, you have helped support him, you put his name out, everytime you post, you promote his image.

This is how he gets his PPVs. You inadvertantly help him and he knows that. As childish as floyd acts and as ******ed as some of his statements, this virtual stockholm syndrome among his haters is what keeps him relevant, well played mate.

A real boxing fan wouldn't care how much a boxer makes.

A real boxing fan would care to see the best fighting the best.

I don't give a **** how Floyd makes his money.

He doesn't gives the fans what they want and ultimately it will cost him in terms of how he's remembered.

The guy everyone wanted to see lose, but was too afraid of fighting any of the top guys that could do it.

When Mike Tyson arrived on the scene he was during massive numbers and initially came across as a humble/modest guy. On the flip side Hopkins talks trash and his numbers have never been that good.
