Just a Q.

Everybody has his own opinion so just respect it. By calling Steward a ******* is outrageous.

he used to say Pac will not beat EM & MAB, He doubt him when he takes DLH. How many times he doubted Pac?? A lot.... & what Pac has done was more impressive than the real nuthuggerss like me ever imagined.
He got Pac at #5 ATG but these nuthugger have Pac at #3 ATG now. He's not far off.

How can someone say Manny is top 5 when you can list at least 5 boxers who a better than him at the top of your head? How can a boxer be in the top 5 when his career is not over? What if Manny loses to Mayweather?
That's like me saying Kobe Bryant is the greatest of all time before his career is over. Kobe will go down as a top 3 player of all time, but it's crazy to even put him in the top 5 right now before his career is over. A lot of "experts" have said Kobe is the greatest basketball player of all time. I'm a Laker fan and a Kobe Bryant, but I don't agree with them.

Hmmmm I don't think this is even a contest and just because you can name every opponent Joe Louis ever had doesn't qualify you as anything other than a know it all.
Manny Steward having more credibility than anyone on this forum doesn't necessarily prove that he's right, although in this case I guess there's really no right or wrong. You can rate a fighter however you want to and a man like Manny Steward certainly has a right to his opinion. But this doesn't mean everyone has to agree with it. I don't, and many other credible people don't. People just as credible as Steward.

Let's be honest here, if this was Roger Mayweather saying it about his nephew, most people would laugh it off. But Roger's a two-time world champion and a top class trainer isn't he? And I could probably dig up statements of Emmanuel Steward's, most recently about Andy Lee and Kermit Cintron, that are just as ridiculous as anything you'd ever hear from the mouth of Roger Mayweather (although admittedly with much greater frequency from Roger).
It's certainly a huge compliment for Pacquiao coming from Manny Steward but let's not use this as an argument about Pacquiao being top 5 ATG. Ray Arcel thought Jack Dempsey was the best ever, Eddie Futch thought Charley Burley was the best ever, Angelo Dundee thought Muhammad Ali was the best ever, it's just their opinions, not fact.Last edited by TheGreatA; 01-15-2010, 01:12 AM.

Right now I don't think his "resume" is as strong as his skills would suggest. Wins over De La Hoya, Hatton, Corrales, Castillo surely prove that he is a level above most fighters today but he hasn't truly had a career-defining win yet. Skill-wise he's up there but as far as the names he has beaten, well I could probably come up with a decent-sized list of names that are comparable if not better in that regard.

if Roger M said that about PBF, then he is clearly going to appear biased.....
BUT this is Steward....he is black, not manny's trainer and a reputable boxing trainer.....
dundee trained ali--------Steward did not trained Manny
Im a Pac fan but i dont agree with Steward....Pac surely is top 25 at least not top 5 in my opinion although he is the best southpaw of all time though....
but that is my own opinion
