I wouldn't want an energizer bunny I would want the real fighter. The difference is a decision vs a KO cause I believe PBF would stop Manny with all that lunging in he likes to do. Perfect for a check hook or a quick uppercut. Manny gets sloppy and Floyd would wax his ass when he does so why give him the energizer bunny advantage when I can demand he come clean. Aint nobody falling for that bravado BS but Cotto and Shane. PBF is a very intelligent fighter and businessman and he knows Manny off the juice would be a cakewalk.

Not saying Manny wouldn't get tagged by Floyd, but he took Cotto's shots, who is known as a good ****er. Too bad this might not happen. And for 20 million, I still say it is silly to walk away. So what if it is tougher? If they're confident, take it and whoop the guy. Or try to.

manny agreed to 24 days (from 30 days) only after hbo sports boss greenburg disclosed the fact that the series 24/7 aired video of manny taking a blood test 24 days before r the hatton fight. BEFORE THAT DISCLOSURE, manny was holding on hard to a 30-day limit.

floyd called for a 14-day limit, which would have been the half-way point between manny's 30-day limit, and floyd's wish to put the testing limit at 1 day before the fight.

all during this fiasco, you neglect to mention a few points:

1 - manny - faced with the onging hits to his credibility - could have easily just taken the tests if he had nothing to hide.

2 - instead, he chose to first claim that he's afraid of needles. when several boxing writers questioned that logic, manny then stated he feared taking a blood test immediately before the fight would "weaken" him.

3 - finally, manny chose to file a lawusuit - citing the mayweathers and golden boy had damaged his repuation. again...and i'll repeat again - all he had to do was take the test to fight any assaut on his reputation.

i've restated the stuff above several times on this forum...including that fact the boxing writers at the "majors" - espn, nydailynews, &yahoosports...all agreed that:

1 - floyd was calling for tests that would have ensured both fighters were clean...AND as a result - floyd had the MORAL HIGH GROUND on this issue.

2 - those boxing writers also came to the conclustion that manny essentially blew it at the last stage of the negotiations by again refusing to not only take the test, but then failing to agree to "fair" compromise of 14-days (the half way mark between both of their initial requests).

i will add a third point..and say that I BELIEVE floyd shares the blame in this..because at the end of the negotiations - when it was apparent manny's ignorance regarding the "weakened theory" would not let him budge off of 24 days - that floyd should have said F it and take the high road an agree to 24 days. (there is NO medical evidence to prove manny's claim...it's a vial for crying out loud)

this is all common sense. but you and the rest of manny's fanboys - ON THIS FORUM - have stubbornly refused to take your focus off of floyd...and the fact that he called for these tests. you and your fanboy brethern also don't seem to realize that it really doesn't matter WHO called for the tests. at the end of the day this simply became a matter of integrity. manny's honesty was called into question and he refused to take the most direct road to a perfect defense: TAKING THE TESTS.

there are serveral editorials out there from the major boxing writers relaying the above positions. take a read. the most recent one comes from tim smith of the ny daily news (one of the more well known boxing writers working in america for those fanboys who don't live here).

Look at Hopkins, and what he did to Kelly, among others. How old was he? How old is Manny? Heck, Ricky is a bunny too, and he's an alcoholic, apparently, who eats crap. Hopkins aint steamrolling his opponents and we're not talking about a young fighter. All this started for Manny after 50 fights, 50. BS!!!!!!!! anyway...get your facts straight. the 14 day counter-proposal came up DURING the mediation. but you know what...i'm going to try to make you see the light.

for argument's sake, let's say that mayweather proposed the 14-day clause at the VERY tail end of the negotiations (that would have been after mediation, and before the last blustery statement by bob "rob'em" arum).

at that point, when manny is countered with a REASONABLE offer to meet in the middle, what the hell is the problem??? just go with it. in a difficult negotiation both sides are lucky when they can meet each other half way! wake up!!!

you really need to wake up man. clottey hit the F'n lottery! his is a GOOD welterweight. NOT a great welterwight. but more importantly, josh clottey is TOP RANK FIGHTER...just like manny. bob arum's slimy handprints are all over this one. as was the case with manny's fight against cotto - arum will now get to avoid splitting the promotional pot anymore than he has to (let's not forget how pissed he is that he has to shave off a % from manny's fights to goldenboy from their 2007 dispute).

these are two top rank fighters. get it???

i could easily turn your argument around and say..."why isn't manny fighting bradley, williams, or martinez?" surely bob arum had that option. but why go that route when he can look within his own stable and find the perfect opponent for march 13th? again...in clottey, arum has a good, but not GREAT fighter who barely beat cotto (yes, i thought he won), and who will likely provide good action - but NO surprise upsets? it's a no brainer man. wake up...

finally...i will repeat that i am in no way a floyd fanatic. I DO AGREE WITH YOU THAT HE HAS TO STEP UP AND CHOOSE A LEGITIMATE OPPONENT. personally, i would like to see mosely (assuming he gets by berto) do a quick 6wk turn around and climb in with floyd on 3/13. but i'm not sure if that's enough time for shane at his age. i would also be satisfied seeing floyd fight cintron or quintana. (i don't think williams is an option b/c he's also managed by al haymon. that would violate conflict of interest law that i believe is on the books in nevada).
