Pavlik Williams will be a war, but Pavlik KO's Williams. Martinez or Sterm might have a better shot at winning a UD, but again i think both these guys can be hit. neither have B-Hop level defense. Pavlik makes his comeback 2010. i'll be happy when he gains confidence and moves up to super.

Full credit to Williams for trying to rematch Martinez. Most boxers in his position wouldn't do so.

Pavlik needs to fight Paul. Even if he wasn't the number 2 guy in the division (which he is, IMO) KP looked so bad arranging and re-arranging the fight that he needs to disprove all of the doubts that people have about him. If that means getting paid a bit less than he thinks he deserves then so be it.

why is it called a return if he just fought a month ago and won?

who knows..but you should call into one of the shows horus, lefty and burner do..it would add some versatility to the show to have a female boxing fan talk boxing.

I really don't know where to start on this thread? So, I will start with Taylor being labeled a C level fighter. Pavlik was the first to take Taylor out and then out boxed him in the rematch. And as anyone knows, that knows anything about boxing, Taylor's problems where never with his boxing skills. And if you want proof look no further then the fact that he was boxing circles around Fraud Froch, oh excuse me I really meant Carl, until the stoppage. And I will admit that I did not see the Taylor-Abraham fight. But, I have read nothing about the fight that would indicate that Abraham was dominating Taylor before the stoppage. And if not for a point deduction it would have been a very close decision. So, to label Taylor a C level fighter is absolutely ridiculous. Now, onto the claim that Pavlik needs Williams.

Williams has fought in three welterweight title fights, and by the way his only title fights. And out of those three he lost to a fighter who is ranked around 40th in the world and many of the so called experts believe he even lost to old blaster fist as well. So, he was in no way shape or form a dominating fighter at welterweight. And then he fought two old, no make that very old, fighters in Phillips and Wright. He then almost gets his a$$ handed to him by a non-power punching Jr. Middleweight who moved up in weight to fight him. By the way I thought Martinez won. And what about Williams at Middleweight? Well, technically speaking Wright was a middleweight but he was old and and he had not fought, which was also a loss, in almost two years before he fought Williams and has not fought since. So, even to the most novice amongst us it has to be very clear that Winky's better days are long gone. So, for good reason, the discussion of Williams fighting at Middleweight was a very short one.

In closing I believe I have presented facts that prove that Williams was not a dominating fighter at Welterweight, Jr. Middleweight or at Middleweight. So, with that said will someone please, or at least try, to explain to me why Williams even deserves a shot at the Ring, lineal, WBC as well as the WBO Middleweight Championship of the World? Because to me, and I am no expert, he has not even earned a shot at the title much less a 50/50 cut. And if I was part of Team Pavlik I would have laughed in his over rated face when he dared to ask for it.

Perhaps they mean vs the upper echelon on the division rather than a tune-up?

Pavlik as a champion will only be realavant if he moves up to 168 where the real fighters are. He's to big and strong for anyone at 154 and there is nothing but wasteland at 160 aside from Sturm who is questionable as a champ as well. P-Williams can make 160 but he cannot fight and do well against a real solid middleweight. The buck stops at 154 for P.Will. However a Pavlik vs Winky Wright fight at 160 still would be a great match. Styles make fights and Winky can give Kelley Problems

We want Williams Pavlik! Make it 50/50. I thought Pavlik woulda KOed Williams after the Martinez fight. Now I'm not sure- Pavlik didnt show too much last time.
