Rick was always a mauler and he was good at it, but it's a high energy form of fighting as styles go. When he was younger he was effective, even if crude, but now he is just walking into punishment. If he can't make 140 forget it.

      3. Shane Mosley
      4. Miguel Cotto
      5. Joshua Clottey
      6. Antonio Margarito

Cotto vs. Hatton would be huge in NYC on the eve of the Puerto Rican Day Parade.

              Thats the one.
Since 2005 when hatton beat Tszyu i have always hoped this fight would be made. 5 years on it looks like a possibility. And im sure Cotto would take the fight at welterweight.

Hang'em up Ricky you will be destroyed by any elite. Only fight you should take is rematch VS Pauli.
Why? He beat him good fair & square the last time and lost only one round in doing so.

There is no way Hatton takes on Cotto if he wants to go out on a winning note. Cotto would knock him out, possibly easier than Pacquiao did....

He beat Collazo, Urango, Castillo, Tszyu, Malignaggi and he'll beat JMM too. He's won multiple world titles and is a multi-millionaire, guess who the real bum is...yeah you.
I apologize for hurting your feelings. And by the way Hatton is only 31 but he is an old 31. So lets see about Ricky's record. He was a two division champ with a total of four title fights. That is unless you want to count the IBO but I will not. And many actually thought that Collazo beat him and I happen to agree, and he beat a brawler with less boxing skill then himself in Urango, and at times Lazcano beat him around the ring and Hatton was lucky to survive. He then beats Pauli and I will even go as far and say that if the Pauli version who fought Diaz had showed up to fight Hatton, there may have been a different outcome. And he gets waxed by the only in their prime world class fighters he has fought. Simply put, in my opinion he is way overrated. And as far as Hatton making lots of money he deserves it because he worked hard at his profession. And sometimes hard work pays of more so then having skill. And I find it completely laughable that you would in any circumstances compare Hatton to Calzaghe or Hopkins.

how typical... all british fighters are overhyped bums and should come to america and fight american fighters... and when they do go over there and beat an american fighter theres ALWAYS some excuse to discredit the win. its ridicilous really. i am by no means a Ricky Hatton fan but he beat Paulie Malignaggi an american fighter in america fair and square, Ricky Hatton is simply BETTER than Paulie Malignaggi and thats the end of it. that was Paulie Malignaggi at his best, he didn't look that great but guess why? because of Ricky Hatton thats why. Ricky Hatton is twice the fighter that Juan Diaz is so offcourse Malignaggi looked better against Diaz than Hatton.
