      Hatton's outlook

There are some decent fights out there for him at 147. He is still a draw and a name for those guys at 147. The fact he is hittable and has been beaten 2 times already by two of the best P4P fighters out there does not hurt his marketability. I think GBP being that they are in bed with Hatton's promotional company would be the front runner for a Hatton fight in 2010. his first fight might be against a JMM at 144 then maybe if Shane can't land the golden goose he get s fight with Hatton @ 147 for a money PPV fight.....Lefty
while I'll agree with most of your post I'd have to rule out only 2 of the above .. as

      1. hasn't Judah been talking more of fighting at 140 recently?

and 2. the only Hatton Floyd's been talking about facing these days is Matt, as
**weren't there enough people saying that Hatton-Mayweather 1 shoulda been at 140? so what benefit would Floyd gain from fighting Ricky yet again? and wouldn't you think Ricky needs to wina fight or 2 before he can even think of that fight (Mayweather rematch)

yes Hatton is marketable (very, a big star) and it should help him get a big fight next, but I disagree with the 2 losses having no effect on his marketability

besides his loss in May to Pacquiao being one sided and devastating it was probably Hatton's last chance at fighting a #1 Pound for Pound

and to make matters worse, Hatton can no longer make 140 (his natural division) and has to return to Welter .. a division he's admitted to being too small for.

so yeah with Mosley-Berto and Pacquiao-Clottey good to go, Ricky might luck out and land a fight vs another welter in Margarito or Cotto

but coming off a 2nd round kayo loss, and having to leave your natural division isn't exactly an ideal situation to be in for Hatton.

but good post and you make plenty of solid points.

Id like to see him fight Amir Khan. That would be a huge domestic fight in the UK, though I think Khan knocks him out at this point.

Junior Witter would also be good, He's been wanting Hatton for years and its a winnable fight aswell as another huge domestic fight.

Why not put the Hatton brothers against the Cotto brothers?

I rarely speak against Ricky but if he comes back at that weight then he's a fool.

He's always looked comparatively poor at WW, and has only ever lost once at JWW to an atg.

I wouldn't like to see him drag JMM up to WW either, that's a ****weather move, a catchweight maybe.

Those would be two competitive fights that he would fair well ecomnomically and in a fighting standpoint

Hatton vs. Margarito at 147 will be a good fight as both are coming off losses.

Are you serious? I'm a Hatton fan but Margo kills him, he's just too big and powerful. Hatton can't hurt his opponents at 147.

i cant see hatton winning against competitive competition at 147 ...

JMM - Hatton at 140 is perfectly fine...
JMM - Cotto at 147 would be suicide for hatton

If his opponent is gonna Marquez, I'd give him a big edge. From what I saw in the Mayweather fight, Marquez isn't good enough at 147.
