We know that synthetic blood doping can be detected in urine. Can it detect anything else? And by the way, what does "synthetic EPO" mean? EPO is "synthetic." And naturally, there are masking agents athletes take to cover this up. But by taking the urine test with the blood test, you have the user at checkmate. Even if they are unable to detect the EPO, they will know something is amiss by checking the blood count. Furthermore, the blood test can detect natural transfusions, among other things. I'm no doctor but there's every reason to believe that the objects used for these transfusions aren't as messy as in years past. And so forth. So cut it out. And since the blood test is so much cheaper (like being more efficient is a bad thing?), there should be no problem putting up cash for it on a consistent basis.
If cash is no problem why not just use the expensive urinalysis to detect it. Why use an indirect method and waste money on a blood test, when you have a urinalysis method to detect it.Comment

It means it's man made (artificially) not naturally occurring. EPO naturally occurs in the body, but the man made EPO is labeled synthetic or any drug for that matter.

Ummmmm, TO MAKE A 40 MILLION DEAL. It's called a compromise. A trade-off.
have you ever bought an insurance policy on something but not have a claim? it happens.
Floyd has always made 147. But Pac wanted a $10 mil per lb policy to be sure. It happens. i'm fine with that.
For $40 million, you can draw the blood from my penis.
God, I can't stand when people put the $10 mil weight stipulation as a debate. You know how dumb that sounds, he's a welter, he's suppose to make weight. It's his job.
Why does he need someone to tell him to make weight, when that's his damn job.Comment

Bruce Binkow, the chief marketing officer of Golden Boy Promotions, on Dec. 30 offered a 14-day cutoff as a compromise via instant message to Top Rank president Todd duBoef, who replied on Dec. 31 that “14 is no good.”
Schaefer said he believes the fight can be salvaged over the weekend and the first step is making certain that Pacquiao is aware of Mayweather’s 14-day offer. “There are reports [on the Internet] that Manny is not aware of this and we want to make certain that he knows what Floyd has agreed to do,” Schaefer said.
However, Koncz said he was informed of the offer by promoter Bob Arum and that he brought it directly to Pacquiao, who would not even consider it. Koncz said Pacquiao was very firm in his decision.
“Bob called and told us about the 14 days and I brought that to Manny and he said, ‘I told you, we’re not agreeing to that,’ and that was pretty much it,” Koncz said.Comment

It goes both ways. Last time I checked Pacquiao wasn't sporting the "Money" moniker.

Conte received calls from the doctors who are consulting with May. He told them that testing until five days is ideal. Ten days would be OK, and he advised may against a 14 day cut-off. At 14 days, you can get an extra 1-2 weeks of training on EPO that you can then take into the fight.
That runs in direct contrast to what Arrum said (that the mediators later also contested0.Comment
