You'd have to be a complete ******* to think Pacman has surpassed De La Hoya in popularity. Pacman is definitively the better fighter, but De La Hoya made boxing extremely popular to the mainstream folks. Pacman will never get to that level.

No he didn't....Mike Tyson was the one in the 90's that made boxing extremely popular amongst mainstream folks. I know alot of people talked **** about mike and most hated his guts, but everyone knew who he was and tuned in to boxing because of the intrigue surrounding him.

Maybe where you live, but not where I live. You could ask 100 people on the street here who Manny is, and you would be lucky if 10 knew. And I dont mean that as a shot at Manny. I like Manny. But he isnt well known or popular outside of big boxing fans. Manny is popular among serious boxing fans.
