Obviously he has nothing to do with boxing, but im trying to explain to the american fight fan that de la hoya was not as big around the world as you think. thats because this place is loaded with filipinos. when i went to north carolina 5 weeks ago, i couldnt even hold a boxing conversation for the most part. and the one guy who had an idea who he was, was my cousin, who didint really know him by name.

If you asked some guy or woman on the streets of the uk who De la hoya was, they would'nt have a clue. You seem to think de la hoyas on the same level as Ali or Tyson, and he aint even close. Maybe if he won any of his big fights he could have been.
