Comments Thread For: Berto's Promoter Grilled on Lack of Testing For Mosley

I have always had a level of respect for Lou D. as a trainer/promoter ect..and I do agree with him on this. I am a huge boxing fan and I would love to have the sport cleaned up..the biggest money fight in the history of the sport is a great place to start the change..why not now? why not the biggest names in boxing to do it. this should be a good thing for both fighters to prove the sport can be clean..but you have one fighter whos willing..and the other avoiding it like the plague...a bit sad..thank goodness I waited to book my reservation in Vegas..Comment

I didn't even read this article. This Pacquiao Mayweather bull**** has everything ****ed up. **** this talk of roids and better testing. Lets talk about the fight. Pacquiao Mayweather isn't happening because of nonsense. Berto and Mosley will fight. Its the biggest fight officially scheduled at the moment in boxing and now were gonna worry about Mosley needing a test. Come on. Lets talk will Mosley grow old over night. Lets talk this is a huge step in class for Berto who I expect should bring his A game and we should be in for a good one. Pacquiao and Mayweather shouldn't even be talked about at this point. Two Bamas.Comment

All fighters should be FORCED (under law) to take "RANDOM" blood tests at ANY point when under contract. Period. Keep it safe, keep it fair, keep it real!BoxingScene.com sat down with promoter Lou DiBella and grilled him on the issue of random drug testing and whether or not a blood test for performance enhancing drugs is something that boxing needs as a mandatory pre and post fight requirement. DiBella's young charge, WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto, is going up against Shane Mosley in a unification fight on January 30 in Las Vegas. [Click Here To Read More]
Boxing has no time for cheaters in today's world. If you decline these tests (as if you decline a breathalyzer when pulled over when driving) you should be arrested, fined, and your licensed revoked for at least one year with further fine and penalties if proven guilty once forced to test by giving blood under the law.
Declining these tests would and should be admitting to GUILT. Again ALL fighters should be forced into taking these tests NOT just Pac who's declining "RANDOM" (look the word up) blood tests.....Comment

I agree to the other comments made here. If golden boy promotions wanted to prove their sincerety and keep their integrity of the matter of olympic style drug testing, then they should start with andre berto - shane mosley fight. this can be the precedent of all testing and will not be used as a reason for extra demands in future negotiations. this will apply to floyd jr- matt hatton fight as well.Comment
