Rewatched Calzaghe Hopkin last night and.....

IMO it's a lot easier to appreciate a fighter if you know his whole career. Heck if you look at Roy jones now, you will think he's a bum but he's an ATG that happens to be fighting out of prime.
Joe was not in prime VS Hopkins.
Not a great fight but he had many skills to win. Just
Joe calzaghe only got up with big names. He use to have power but his hands are ****ed and happened since he was a kid.
He doesn;t even do press up because of that issue.
Don't get me wrong, Hopkins is a classy fighter, but that fight was not the best of both. People say because it was close that a prime Hopkins would whoop his ass.
Calzaghe was out of prime, his skin never use to get cuts until that fight. His speed was less and power completely gone.
A more open Hopkins would not do better than the one we saw. If you understand boxing, then it's damn hard to get hit hard by a punch and get held close up.
A more open fight would also be close but by no means a clear Hopkins win.Comment

LOL. You Floydians never change. It's always woulda/coulda/shoulda and never actually "DID", but then you call others delusional (not you in particular, DLT) for daring to post an opinion that differs from yours. It's actually no less delusional to suggest Hopkins would lose to Calzaghe at any point in their careers. None.
