The fight where he won the vacant IBF title from woods was in August. 5 months ago and he still has no fights lined up, doesn't he have a mandatory or something can anyone here take a break from all of the Hollywood rumors about "big stars" and shed some light on this seeing as Cloud at least has a future in the sport and doesn't have one foot out the door already.
Why no fights for Tavoris Cloud?

Damn he couldn't take a mando in between while he is waiting on the winner? I mean if that fight is hard on Mack and Johnson then they may need months to recover before another training camp. A Cloud title defense at the earliest might be in May.Comment

He doesn't have a mandatory right now. The winner of that fight is gonna determine that. I made a criticism thread about Dawson a couple weeks ago because I was dissapointed that he was gonna sit through the first half of 2010 waiting for Pascal to get healed up from an injury while both Dawson and Cloud could be fighting each other. Even if Cloud is a high risk, low reward fight isn't it better to take the gamble of fighting him instead of sitting idle and making no money at all? This tells me that Dawson will duck Cloud at all costs.
The reason why that thread I made about Dawson didn't throw much heat toward Cloud's direction is because Cloud hasn't flat out said that he is not getting back in the ring until summer time like Dawson has. But it's still baffling and disappointing at the same time that he doesn't have a fight lined up in the forseeable future. Neither Dawson or Cloud are doing anything to get people interested in them. Cloud needs to at least sign with someone like Goosen. Goosen gets a lot criticism from people, but you can't accuse him of not keeping his fighters busy regardless of who they fight.Comment

I am sure they can dig up just a body who can make 175 so he can at least get some work I mean who does this guy eat? He is not well known and can't be making money if he isn't fighting. **** I will make 175 and take the beating for a decent payday if no one else wants to......You hear that Cloud?!He doesn't have a mandatory right now. But why fight on ESPN for little money when you can maybe get a fight with Dawson on HBO? Harding and Gardner are worse fighters than Woods and Gonzalez and Adamek still gave Dawson a shot when he didn't have to. He could've done the same thing that Dawson has been doing and throw his belts in the trash. I think Dawson would've schooled Diacanu if the fight happened though. But I think Cloud is a very live challenge to Dawson because of his deceptive hand speed, strength, and pressure.Comment

That's the key there. Cloud gets compared to Jeff Lacy, but even in his prime, Lacy made it look like a chore to put three punches together. Cloud's combination punching is special and it comes naturally to him. He eats too many clean shots for my liking, but he's a very live dog against Dawson's average power and questionable chin.Comment
