he was in australia not afghanistan ffs. put his family in jeopardy? what were they gonna do feed them to the crocadiles if he said anything?
He was hit on the neck not the back of the head. and it wasnt an early stoppage. He was blocking the head shots but the body sdhots were getting through, and it was an english ref so if u get dropped, and dont throw back while 100 punches are being thrown at u he will stop the fight. U probably would complain more if the ref didnt stop it and Roy got knocked out cold.
Oh by the way, i take it u know what gloves Green was wearing? Might have affected the pop on his punch a bit.
Either Roys an idiot for going through with the fight knowing the wraps were dodgy, or, he's making up excuses. leaving it a week after the fight was over when no-one can prove a thing.
Either way he needs to retire.
................That was usually the point where I would call you a fu.cking moron, but I will refrain because you were somewhat civilized.
Secondly, Roy got hit by about 6-8 glancing body shots and uppercuts after the initial knockdown caused by a punch behind the head. That's right, clearly BEHIND THE HEAD. Don't sit here and try and tell me it was on the neck, temple, ear.........just save it. I have it literally dvr'd right now and have seen it about 30 times in super slow motion. You have probably seen it once live and then a few times on a ****ty youtube tape. Trust me, that doesn't show anything. Roy backs himself into a corner(I agree, he should have never done) and waits with his left hook ****ed. Danny Green lunges with a jab to the chest and Roy misses his hook. Danny then comes across with a right cross of sorts and Roy turns to his right and leans down as it is thrown, thinking it will miss. The punch deflects slightly off of Roys left shoulder eventually landing on the left/back side of Roy's head. Yes, it was a fluke landed shot that did a ton of damage due to the location and could have been even harder if there was something in his wraps. I know Danny wasn't trying to hit him there but it doesn't change the fact that it happened. If I were Roy, knowing I was in a different country whom my opponent was from, I would have either held or ran for a bit while I recovered other than play rope a dope with a ref who was looking to stop a fight in favor of the hometown boy, but you never know if he was thinking clearly enough to take all that into consideration as this was unfolding.
As far as Roy retiring, you are probably right. The longer he fights, the easier it is to forget his greatness while in his prime. As a selfish fan I want to see him fight because I always loved his style and respect him greatly.
I can call this down the middle because I like Danny Green as well. I met him in Biloxi and he was great to deal with in person. I just don't like how he took so long to get to the ring or some things he said in the build up to the fight that disrespected a living and fighting legend like Roy Jones.
On a side note, I would love to see Green take on Adamek. That would be a good fight and we would get to see if Green is really the goods.Comment

That letter explains a lot, also the delay in which the complaint was filed. He was waiting to hear back from the governing body and also waiting for results back from the wraps as well as pictures of Green in the locker room with the wrong tape on.
