Doesn't matter what it was. Nobody cares either. It was a negotiating point. Miguel countered, accepted, and lost. End of story. He didn't have to take the fight just like he is choosing not to take the Golovkin fight.

He did have to take the fight or he was going to be stripped of his belt I believe. He was also under Top Rank and they tell you who to fight, he didn't have a choice at all. I do agree that Cotto accepted the terms, that doesn't mean making 145 didn't hurt him. You can't tell me he is better losing two pounds than gaining it.

Look back a few pages, Cotto himself said he was fine. He even said it immediately after the weigh in. Cotto came in at

        146 vs Quintana
        146.5 vs Judah
        146.25 vs Mosley
        146.50 vs Gomez
        146 vs Clottey

        Stop now. You look silly.

Of course he's going to say that after the weigh in, what do you expect someone to say before entering a fight? I'm so weak from not eating for 3 days to lose that extra 1-2 pounds...

I don't look silly, you sound ****** thinking losing extra weight doesn't negatively affect you. When you're a fat ****, obviously not, when you're a shredded piece of muscle already, it affects you. Did Cotto agree? Yes. Was he a better fighter because of it? No.

There is no excuse there, it's just reality of life. Nothing fanboy or nuthugging about it, simply science. Your defense to this is... Cotto said no, so it must be true. Then you'll agree Margarito had illegal wraps, he'd beat Floyd in a rematch and with Roach, Manny will beat Floyd.

I don't need to read it after the fight either, because as I said it's science. You guys don't seem to be satisfied unless any Cotto fan is butthurt or offended that Manny lost. Yes, he lost he got beat from pillar to post it simply wasn't the best version of Cotto and the weight didn't help. That hurts your feelings more than me seeing Cotto get beat up, trust me lol.

I give the beating Marg gave Cotto more of an impact than the weight. Though Cotto himself says it was the weight. But so does Canelo about 152, it's just excuses at the end of the day.

Cotto didn't even look drained when he was getting his ass kicked in the rounds past 2 and 3. The guy kept coming at Manny in every round after. I didn't see a Dawson/Ward situation at all.
