Margarito was a nobody...and at the time Baldi had a better resume and the LINEAL WW Title....and he didnt have Aum as his promoter and he was offering more money.

That single win....probably. But body of work has to matter at some point. Margarito was fighting top contenders for years. Baldy was not.

I can buy the easy path to a ring title...I don't blame Floyd for that, I would have done the same thing.

But to say Baldy had a better resume based on his Judah win is asinine.

Judah at he time was light years better then anyone Marg had beat or fought......

Its not Floyds fault Baldi got the ring belt.

Spinks was a belt holder who barely beat Mayorga and Piccirillo who really werent really ****.

Baldomir didn't have a better resume. But, you are right he had the lineal title.

And, it was the same amount money. Matter of fact he probably would of gotten more money with Margarito since Margarito had more of a fan base than Baldomir did.

Margarito was also a tougher fight than Baldomir.

But, really Floyd made the right decision IMO. Baldomir was the lineal champ. So I have no problem with that fight. I had a problem with the Floyd-Judah fight. Floyd should of fought Margarito instead of Judah.

The point I was making was, Mayorga was supposed to fight Margo, he passed to fight Spinks. He lost. Spinks then passed to fight Zab. He won, barley (almost being KO'ed in the 12th). He lost the rematch. Zab first fight out, he lost to Baldie. Who after the Gatti fight screamed into the mic "NO fight Margarito, NO fight Margarito.

In the mean time Margo was just winning. Defending the title he had for about a decade. Margo had every right to fight Floyd.

True boxing fans knew who Margo was. Believe that.

Floyd was not working with Arum..........YOU know that.

Floyd wanted the Lineal Title...YOU know that.

Floyd got more money for Baldi....YOU know that.

No, it's not. And I have no problem with Floyd fighting Baldomir over Margarito. It was the smart thing to do...an easy path to a lineal title. The situation just fell into his lap, anyone who give Floyd **** for taking that fight is just hating.

I'm just saying that to say Baldomir had a better resume than Margarito is literally insane. The Judah win is not enough to compare to Margarito's list of contenders he beat at WW over all that time.

I still think Tony has the best WW resume of all the big guys at WW, with Cotto and Mosley creeping up on him.

I have always heard for that one, the contracts were already made, the venue was there, blah blah,blah.

In short, neither could back out of it.
