as what someone mentioned earlier, Johnson's gameplan was to not get KOd


he brought the following moves to this fight;

jab
bend over to avoid punishment
lean back against the ropes and eat vitali's jab


that's about it

this sums it up nicely and is exactly what happened.

why is vitali getting bashed? cause he didnt Ko johnson and there are still a lot of haters.

cause, otherwise, a 38, going on 39 year old who just pitched a perfect shut-out on what is known as an extremely slick boxer is mighty impressive.

vitali, last few fights has shown up with more of a boxing game than a slugging game. some people might hate this too, although knowledgeable people will find this as a nice progression and show of athleticism from somebody as big and as battle tested as vitali is.

Johnson had a decent defense that involved using shoulder rolls and bending down at the waist, reeeal low sometimes.

He was in suvival mode the entire fight and had no interest in fighting. Vitali had a hard time landing right hands due to this. Those 2 things pretty much ensured that it would be a boring ****ing fight, which it was.

Good defense, no heart = **** to watch


No Vitali didn't "age over night" like some people are saying. Sadly alot on this forum don't understand **** about boxing so cuz it went the distance it means "Vitali has no power". He spent a ****load of time just feinting, trying to get Johnson into a position where he could land a punch.

Vitali looks sluggish, and wasnt himself. While Johnson had no business on that ring. A dissapointing fight from Kevin Johnson.

I think Haye has a good chance aganst Vitali.

I think he got caught with some stuff early that he didn't like, and decided actually throwing punches wouldn't work.

And when he got hit, he showboated, and/or bent over.

I don't blame Vitali, I blame Johnson for stinking the joint out completely.

I have a feeling he got caught with something early which made him gun shy.

People expected more from him probably. He did what he usually does, but it looked sloopy.. Maybe the reason was just Johnsons way of fighting, it takes two to dance. Fight was bad, it reflects on Vitali, his fault or not.

Not one of his better performances IMO.

a high percentage constantly have kneejerk reactions to the fights.

Johnson didn't come to win. He came to survive it would seem. It was near impossible for vitali to look excellent when johnson 'fought' like he did.
