Nice to see someone actually cares about the health of these guys. Taylor has no business carrying on. he's proved that he can't fight a full 12 anymore. Regardless of chin, recent knockouts, brainscans... if you can't go 12 you have no business being in the ring. Bad for your health, bad for the sport... just bad bad bad.

Jermaine Taylor is a great champion. I hope he doesn't get hurt. Lou did the right thing, but it won't stop Jermaine from fighting. Good luck Jermaine and i'm praying for you.

I believe LDB genuinely cares for Taylor, who was the first fighter he ever signed on to promote after leaving HBO. They both started their careers together, and after the Froch KO, Jermain has said that LDB got really emotional with him in his hotel room, reflecting on their time together and his career, telling Jermain how much he loved him.
What bothers me about Dibella is that he showed concern for Taylor's health and questioned his future after the Froch fight, but then sent him straight into the ring with a monster puncher in Arthur Abraham? In reading LDB's comments before the AA fight, he seemed to have no confidence in Taylor's chances of winning, mostly saying that he would put up a good fight as he always does.
There is blood on Dibella's hands, as much as anyone's, with regards to JT's current predicament. He and Al Haymon played the biggest roles in selecting Taylor's opponents, and did a piss poor job of making the right fights to best develop him as an up-and-coming fighter, not to mention failing to competently rebuild him after his first devastating losses to Pavlik.
Now one has to wonder which promoter will snatch Taylor up, and likewise hope that whoever it is, does so with the insistence that he make some serious changes in his corner. For Taylor to have a chance of surviving, Ozell Nelson's got to go.Last edited by dstew; 12-12-2009, 12:17 AM.

good move by DiBella IMO
wouldn't exactly call JT shot, because despite the back to back knockout losses a good portion of them had to to with Taylor's terrible stamina
look for it again vs Ward.
**although with the Kessler upset, it wouldn't surprise me if Taylor won his next fight
but don't be shocked if it goes the same way Abraham does. And I bet Taylor will come into the Ward fight very gun shy

Taylor has **** defense and lets himself get hit cleanly too often, especially late in fights.
His best defense is his offense, because he's got the skills and power to make opponents think twice. The more punches he throws, the less he's getting hit with.
Ward may not have AA's power, but he's the sharpest, most accurate fighter in the tournament. Taylor will get hit. A lot. If JT continues, the Ward fight might be the first time we see Jermain truly dominated.
