Why would Arum have fed Cotto to the wolves?

Cotto was on the verge of Super Stardom before Margarito.

Infact the hype for a Cotto V Mayweather fight was similar to the one for Pac V Mayweather now (in the boxing world). Obviously Mayweather ducked the quite scary prime Cotto though. He was fighting the far better Hatton. LMFAO.

vargas = rushed + thyroid problem. He was ruined by tito. he was never the same after that. then his thyroid started acting up.

taylor = rushed, not that good. I mean he was fighting 154 lbers at MW then he stepped up big to fight BHOP.

cotto = not that good. Cotto was developed very well by Top Rank.... he was given the DLH treatment. If you really look back at his career, he was vulnerable all along from 140 to 147.

I think the only guy listed out of the three that actually produced conclusive wins with results was Vargas. Quartey, Campas, and Castillejo are not great fighters, but he beat those dudes convincingly. Cotto and Taylor never beat the elite fighters they fought convincingly, and that is the difference. Vargas was also thrown to the wolves a lot earlier in his career than those other guys were. I mean stop to think about it. Cotto and Taylor were matched up with feather fisted boxers real early in their career. Taylor had Spinks, Ouma, Wright, a shot Joppy, and to a lesser extent, Raul Marquez. Cotto fought guys like Gomez, Branco, Malinaggi, and Jennings. And after Cotto lost to Pacquiao, that marked the first time that he had fought two elite fighters in a row. It's not like Cotto and Taylor fought a murderer's row their whole career. They were just never that good.

Arum is the worse........hes all about a dollar.

Funny how before the Margarito fight everyone on here was pumped for the fight and saying that Cotto was going to make Margarito look foolish and then knock him out or stop him with a body shot. Yet when Margarito is the one that destroys him people want to blame Arum for making the fight happen and say he was rushed into it.

It's called daring to be great. They paid the price for it. And none of them I'd consider to have achieved gr8ness. EM is an ATG and is on this same list of young but shot fighters. It ain't an exact science. But give these guys props for havin the balls to go all out.
