The Vargas, Taylor and Cotto Theory...(Why they are shot)

Im under the belief that this is what happens when you go out of your way to fight great fighters back to back...to back...and dont really care for defense....when they are fightng hard punchers.

Im not sure if they chased paydays or wanted the challenges...

Either way I think it shortened their career a longggggggggg wayy.

Vargas was done at 28 years old.

    Taylor is done at 30.

    Cotto is done at 29.

I think theyre careers were handled poorly....To all you blood thirsty closet MMA fans..who are going to come in here and say "well they gave us wars"...Look save it..fact is these guys were making millions and now they are knockouts waiting to happen.

I dont think Vargas fighting Tito, Winky, and Oscar before he hit 28 was a smart idea.....

I dont think Cotto...fighting Judah....Mosley and Margario.back to back like that was a good idea...considering they all hit like bricks and Cottos chin situation.

And what the **** was Taylor thinking.....Pavlik( twice)....Froch and King arthur..I mean seriosuly.

These guys careers were managed poorly.....

These boxers are old as hell and still fighting at a high level

    Hopkins is 46........

    JMM is 36.......

    Calzaghe is 37.......

    Shane is 38.........

It's called daring to be great. They paid the price for it. And none of them I'd consider to have achieved gr8ness. EM is an ATG and is on this same list of young but shot fighters. It ain't an exact science. But give these guys props for havin the balls to go all out.

And they ain't refuse. You think they were screamin "No no no! I don't wanna fight that guy boss!" Of course not. Vargas in particular I feel was rushed. But was he against the fights? I was actually just talkin bout all these exact guys yesterday. It's a gamble. Sumtimes you lose, and in boxing that can be dangerous or even fatal. But they wasn't forced to take these fights. They saw opportunities for $ and for gr8ness and they went for it. That's what boxing is about.

Shane is a bad example as he fought Oscar, Cotto, Winky. Forrest, Margarito, Mayorga, Vargas all good punchers. With the excetion of Winky...Lefty

Thats what Im asking...were these smart fights to take....

Did their promoters/managers manage their fighters career right??

Arum is the worse........hes all about a dollar.

He fed Cotto to the wolves.

Hes doing Pac the same way by outting him in there with Floyd.

In Vargas' case, no. He was rushed into the Felix fight. He ain't need to be in a bunch of wars to be ruined, he only needed that one and was never quite the same.

Taylor? You named Pavlik, Froch, and AA. Taylor had to fight Pavlik cuz it was his mando, and he felt it was a big $ fight after Kelly beat Miranda who was a beast at the time. He ain't have a lucrative opportunity at 168 right off the bat, so he fought him and lost. The rematch was obviously about pride, cuz it was 166 wit no belts at stake. Can't fault Taylor for tryin to get his.

Now Froch. He has a dangerous punch, but was leagues below Taylor in skill and had a belt. That fight was supposed to mark the rejuvenation of Taylor. Did they underestimate Froch? Maybe. But was there reason goin in to say "hell no, not that guy?" No. It was a fight that "went wrong" so to speak.

AA? That was bad luck of the draw. Had Taylor been able to pick in the super 6, hey, take the other guys who don't hit hard, Dirrell and Ward first. But the 1st rd was by design to pit US v Europeans, so that wasn't an option. I knew what was comin in that fight, and it woulda been a poor choice by Team Taylor if it was their choice. It wasn't.

Cotto facin Zab wasn't all bad. Zab hits hard, but ain't land enuf to have done any "career damage" on Cotto. Same thing wit SSM. That was a tough fight that tested Cotto mentally moreso than physically, cuz it was a man he couldn't bully. Marg ****ed him up both mentally and physically. Cotto wasn't damaged goin in, but he was damaged goin out. Not shot, but he had lost sumthin. Pac finished the job, but he wasn't supposed to. Cotto was a real WW and Pac wasn't. A losable fight, but not one that could ruin him, or so it seemed goin in. Pac is just more of a beast than people thought.

And Pac-Mr boat buyer ain't a dangerous fight at all, at least in terms of Pac not bein ready or gettin ruined. You fell off on that one.

Damn, that was way too long. Sorry for goin DLT on you Burner.
