The real reason mayweather retired?

I don't care how much money a fight makes. I am a boxing fan not a boxing business fan. As a boxing fan I want to see the best fight the best.

And that's why you will never be happy in this sport. These guys put their careers and lives on the line, if they have the choice they should fight for the most money. In the end if they are the very best they WILL meet each other. If Cotto was the best, he would be fighting Mayweather now. All you that though Cotto or even Margarito were the best at the time turned out to be dead wrong. Look what happened to both fighters after Mayweather left. Mayweather is fighting the best. If any one can beat Mayweather it will be a small strong fighter who can put on relentless pressure. That man is Pac. Floyd is meeting the biggest threat of his life and not ducking. Live with it. Wow, I'm in a combative mood tonight. I should just go to sleep. lol

The fact is the undefeated Cotto beat Mosley before Mayweather fought Hatton, I don't care when he announced his retirement, the fact that he chose the unknown Hatton over Mosley or Cotto says alot about Mayweather. So what facts are you talking about?

Furthermore, Cotto beat Judah in June 2007 and Floyd beat DLH in May 2007. Mayweather didn't fight till Dec of that year and Cotto fought in Nov of that year. Right after the Floyd's fight with DLH, he was asked about Cotto, now remember that he didn't have anybody on schedule to fight next, and that's when he said "you see, Cotto lives in Puerto Rico". And then they announced in July that Floyd is fighting Hatton, who lives in GB, much further away than PR. You can't see the major ducking that Floyd did.

And to answer the TS question. I honestly believe he retired cuz the hunger and the love was not there anymore. He was talking about retiring before the Oscar fight. He even retired after Oscar and cameback to fight Hatton. I think he just fights for money now. I am not saying he needs money cuz I don't think he does. But, I am saying that is his main objective is money. And, the love and hunger for the sport is gone IMO.

I also think he wanted to branch out. Become more of a household name. Not be remembered as a fighter only but as a brand. Become more mainstream. you see Floyd trying to set up this other businesses. Like Mayweather promotions and ****** rich records. And, set up tours for rappers and stuff cuz he wants to branch out. I wouldn't be surprised if you see a Mayweather clothing line and Mayweather cologne and stuff like that. IMO he wants to turn the Mayweather name into a brand.

Oscar in a heartbeat I won't even waste my time thinking about it. But, I also think Floyd would of gotten more than 10mil for Cotto IMO. And, I also believe Cotto was the tougher fight at the time.

In all honestly bro as a boxing fan. I hated that rematch when I heard it was going to happen. I wanted to see Mayweather-Cotto. I didn't want to see Mayweather-Oscar 2. The first fight wasn't even close to me. The split decision was bull****. Mayweather clearly won the first time no need for a rematch move on to new blood. So when he didn't go through with and retired. I actually was happy. I honestly didn't want that fight to happen. I thought it was waste. That is the way I saw it. And, at that time I thought IMO it was Mayweather-Cotto. It had to happen it was perfect cuz Cotto became elite after beating Mosley. And, when he retired I was fine with that too.

I actually would have loved to see Mayweather with Cotto at that time..but I wouldnt want to see Mayweather or any other fighter fighting with no love for the sport......like RossCa said "if Cotto or Margarito were the best then they would still be on top"......now the Top dogs are Pac & Mosley....2 mega fights that will bring Mayweather $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.....and I have no doubt he will fight them.

I believe that Mayweather cares about his bank account more than he cares about his undefeated record...what do u think?

Wow actually you in a ****** mood tonight maybe you should go to sleep. I was happy hardcore boxing fan in the 90's, And, I am a happy hardcore boxing fan. And, I will be a happy hardcore fan till I die. I love the lowerweight classes. I just love boxing. So I am happy with the sport. Cotto at the time was the best, Williams at the time was the best, Margarito was the best, Clottey was the best, Mosley was the best. These were the best WWs out there. You said what happened to both fighters when Floyd retired? Well they fought each other... And, do you know why that was great for boxing? Cuz the best was fighting the best. And, I am sorry you don't win fights on paper. You win them in the ring. These whole well Cotto would of won or Floyd would won does not count. It means **** cuz we will never know. That is why upsets happen. We can say who we thought was going to win and why we think that. But, that does not make it fact unless it happens. So WTF is you talking about? I have gone on record and said I am fine with fighters fighting for the money. I don't want to see it as a boxing fan. But, I understand why they do it. And, by the way the bold comment through me off guard. Since I am a know Pac fan around here. He is my favorite active fighter. And, I have said numerous times that Pac would be the best name in Floyd resume. And, I also said that Floyd has my respects for fighting this fight. So what are you talking about?
