I actually would have loved to see Mayweather with Cotto at that time..but I wouldnt want to see Mayweather or any other fighter fighting with no love for the sport......like RossCa said "if Cotto or Margarito were the best then they would still be on top"......now the Top dogs are Pac & Mosley....2 mega fights that will bring Mayweather $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.....and I have no doubt he will fight them.
I believe that Mayweather cares about his bank account more than he cares about his undefeated record...what do u think?
Now let me ask you this since we both agree that he is more of businessman now than a fighter. That he cares more about the bank account. And, if he does not have the love and the hunger anymore and is more about the mone. Would that be a disadvantage against Pac? IMO Pac still has the hunger and the love. So if Pac has that state of mind and Floyd has the opposite state of mind. Would Floyd be in a disadvantage in that category of who wants it more?

Moron just to let you know, Fraud Gayweather retired prematurely because he was afraid to fight Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, and the rest of the real welterweights.
true story
I don't come here to spread hate but most Pac fans do and say nothing but hateful things while you have only one fighter that has ever mattered in 100 years of the sport. Cong**** on your success but c'mon son !!!
Who knows why Floyd retired. All I can do is take the mans word for it and say he was bored with boxing. In Floyd's mind he's been doing it all of his life and even after moving up to WW and dominating anybody who was put in front of him the boxing world just wanted more of the same.
I can see a guy wanting to try new things and in Floyd's case it was the music business. While Floyd probably wasn't going to find that platinum artist Michael Jordan probably wasn't going to win a world series. Once they attempted to succeed in other walks of life both realized they would never be as good at music or baseball as they were in thier respective disciplines.
End of story.....btw Cotto admitted he wasn't ready for Mayweather and nobody was going to pay to see a Margarito fight.

De La Hoya was old.
Cotto's been a Star in the sport for 3/4 years now.
Floyd could have fought any of them and made just as much money as the Hatton fight. SO quit giving the man excuses for not Fighting the BEST WELTERWEIGHTS in the Division. He Retired because he knew he would have to fight one of them, and say defeat.
and dont tell me Baldimor/Judah is a bigger star then Mosley/Cotto/Margarito because you will get ***** SLAPPED by your own conscience.
Do you know how many people thought Oscar was going to ko Floyd ???
If so you also know your talking out of the side of your neck

Let me tell you this... Oscar De La Hoya urged to make DeLaHoya-Mayweather II after his SPLIT DECISION loss to PBF... But, Mayweather refused it.. He knows he's in great trouble there.. But why not make a PBF-Oscar II?? It was a very close fight. He had his biggest payday and a record breaking PPV buys.. Instead, he retired because the BEST possible opponents at that time for PBF was Margarito and Cotto...

Hatton in 2 *at his best weight*
and TKO'd Cotto
while Floyd was getting chased by the IRS
and fighting making Marquez fight at welterweight then fight a REAL welterweight

He was talking about retiring before the Oscar fight. He even retired after Oscar and cameback to fight Hatton. I think he just fights for money now. I am not saying he needs money cuz I don't think he does. But, I am saying that is his main objective is money. And, the love and hunger for the sport is gone IMO.
I also think he wanted to branch out. Become more of a household name. Not be remembered as a fighter only but as a brand. Become more mainstream. you see Floyd trying to set up this other businesses. Like Mayweather promotions and ****** rich records. And, set up tours for rappers and stuff cuz he wants to branch out. I wouldn't be surprised if you see a Mayweather clothing line and Mayweather cologne and stuff like that. IMO he wants to turn the Mayweather name into a brand.

Would you expect Pac to fight Mosley who imo will beat the breaks off of Pac ?
Cotto stated himself that he wasn't ready for Floyd.
