Based on the thread title, I was actually expecting Manny to trash talk at least a little bit.

Looks like Floyd will be selling the fight by himself again.

Talking smack and making an ass of yourself doesnt equal selling a fight. Manny could go right up to floyd during a press conference and smack him upside his head without ever saying a word and it would create instant round the clock coverage for this fight.

It's still early. I think you'll see a lot of trash talk from both sides(even Manny) for this fight.

I don't know why some people have the false impression that only trash-talking sells fights! Mayweather-Marquez was the big long-awaited comeback which had lots of trash-talking, pissing drinking, weigh-in controversies, etc. BUT, Mayweather-Marquez did NOT sell out, had two co-feature undercards, and sold 250,000 PPV buys LESS than Pacquiao-Cotto!! Pacquiao-Cotto sold out their tickets immediately, over 1.25 million PPV buys in the United States and guess what...it was a fight between two FOREIGNERS that DID NOT trash-talk!! If anything, Mayweather, an american and Marquez, a Mexican should have outdrew Pacquiao-Cotto in every way, but it didn't!!

i think manny's role is already well defined....he's the "darling" and he's humble, doesn't talk **** and takes tough challenges, in the eyes of the public. floyd is the opposite of manny, in they eyes of the public....he's everything they hate about professional athletes, and that's why so many people hope he loses.......too bad tho.
