It's just funny how these *****s think that Gayweather will KO Manny when he couldn't even KO the fat and slow lightweight JMM. Everyone knows that Gayweather don't really have a knockout punch and don't have that much power.

As of right now Manny has the best chance to be the first to beat Mayweather.
This is an active fighter vs an inactive fighter. If floyd comes to the ring the same way he did against JMM i think he will lose. He needs to be alot sharper and faster than he was in that fight.
If this fight happened at 130-140 when floyd was at that weight i would have picked mayweather to obliterate Manny easily based on both fighters performaces @ those weights. Also Manny is a bigger puncher @ 140-147 the he was @ 130-135 (figure that one out). Now i am not so sure. Manny has improved out of sight in the last 2 to 3 years, whereas i believe floyd speed of hand and foot is on the decline. Mannys head movement is better and he no longer relies on the str8 left as much. He has shown he can be effective with short hooks with both the right and left, shows his opponent more angles and is more conscious of defending after delivering a combo.
I think the key for Manny is to overwhelm Mayweather early. The longer this fight goes the more it will favour Floyd. He will have more time to figure Manny out and he dosen't get tired (neither does Manny though). I think Mayweathers strategy will be to fight on the outside constantly moving to Mannys right. He will try to throw short left hooks over Mannys right jab (the same thing he did against Judah) and try to catch Manny off gaurd with straight right hands. Moving to the right and fighting @ a distance he can use the reach advantage and he will try to step back when Manny throws the left so it will come up short then he will counter. I think he will avoid the pocket, though i would like to see him try that strategy to take all of Mannys leverage away from him and rough him up in the inside a bit with his expert use of the elbow as a gaurd to push off against.
Here my analysis:
Speed: Prob even, though @ this stage maybe an edge to Manny.
Power : Manny
Defense: Floyd (obviously)
Reach: Mayweather
Height: Mayweather
Offense: Even. Can both be explosive offensively. Though PBF has the edge in accuracy.
Ring IQ: Mayweather.
Intangibles: Prob even. Both of these fighters respond bravely to adversity and are very relaxed in the ring. Some people suggest Mayweather can't take punishment. Simply not true, he has a great chin and can take it to the body no problem. Both train hard though Floyds inactivity could prove telling.
VERDICT: Mayweather by UD. The man just knows how to win. I think he can frustrate Manny in the ring and get him off his game plan and blunt his offense.

Did Maywehather miscalculated?
Here are the prelim contract details that Manny verbally accepted:
Pacquiao vs. Mayweather Contract Details
Here are some details that have been revealed about the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather match, although official statements have not yet been released:
■The proposed date for the big bout is March 13, 2010.
■The official name of the promotion will be Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, signaling that Mayweather gets the top billing.
■The fighters have agreed to a 50-50 split of money.
■The bout will take place at the welterweight limit of 147 lbs.
■The fighters will wear 8 ounce gloves, and can pick a brand of their choice.
This is pretty much going back to Mayweather for his blessing. Apparently Manny is okay with this. Sounds reasonable, right?! Will Mayweather sign? Let's take a look:
1. Mayweather has the advantage here. He has the longest to rest whereas, manny just recently got some punding from Cotto and hurt his hand and a broken eardrum.
2. Mayweather has the top billing, and I'm sure he is okay with this since he has a big ego. Manny is a Welterweight champ but it seems he doesn't care about this small detail.
3. This should be reasonable since Mayweather officially retired but will he accept this? I'm not sure what mayweather agreed upon before the Arum flew to the philippines but if he expect to get more than this split, then it is not going to happen (the fight that is). Even if it was 51/49.
4. This is reasonable since manny never really walks around at 147lb. So at welterweight Max, this is an advantage to Floyd. If he walks around at 155, then he should be able to make 147 easy. If he expects Manny to go to 154lb, then it would be...well... you know.
5. 8oz gloves. Manny's preferred gloves to fight. I believe Floyd may want to use 10oz gloves. This is Manny's advantage, BUT if Floyd thinks he can beat manny easy, then he should be able to handle 8oz gloves.
Okay. all this seems reasonable. We'll have to waitt til Floyd agrees with this. Cheers!

I'm picking manny to win in a TKO. Since he broke into the American boxing scene, he basically was an undersdog. For some, the ODDS we in manny's favor but most analysts and boxing pundits nalways doubted Manny. Too small, no skills, no IQ, too raw etc. But in the end he proves everyone wrong with a spectacular display of boxing showmanship. Not only does he win, but he brings alot of excitment not since Mike Tyson came into the ring back in the late 80's early 90's.
Maywetaher is very good and has a different style. Oscar is a legend, Hatton was phenominal at 140, Cotto is a beast, Marquez was a great tactition, Morales and barrera were warriors. many different styles but manny came out on top with pure energy, heart, and most of all power. I think he will come away with a win in a big way. You can argue that mayweather will play defense all night. people will analyze Cotto was able to punch Manny while backpedaling throught the last 6 rounds but in the end it comes down to will Mayweather weather the fury of punches that donlt come at 2-3 punch combo, but make it 5-6 combo whenever there is an opportunity.
9th round TKO for manny.

And I thought the eardrum reports were disputed and a non-issue.
