But Floyd Mayweather, Jr. claims he doesn't even know who Paul Williams is. "Paul, who?" is Mayweather's response when asked about 'P-Will'.

Shane Mosley is of the notion that Williams "doesn't bring enough to the table" to warrant a fight with him. Mosley says, "I only want mega-fights and Paul Williams is not that."

Like comedian Kathy Griffin, Williams has had to get used to living life on the D-List.

"I don’t know why all these guys won’t fight me," says Williams. "I guess you’ll have to ask them that."

Maybe all of this has something to do with the fact that the lanky 28-year-old, who stands 6'2" tall and has the wingspan of a heavyweight, throws punches like President Barack ***** throws around tax payer money – non-stop and in bunches.

To get a true sense of how many punches the man throws; all you have to do is look at the numbers - because they don't lie. In 2007, he fired a relentless 1,256 punches at Antonio Margarito over the course of twelve rounds to lift Margarito's WBO welterweight title. That effort was good enough to rank him second on the all-time list for punches thrown by a welterweight.

This past April, Williams unloaded 1,086 punches when he bombarded the still capable Winky Wright in a virtual shutout over twelve rounds. That performance ranks Williams second on the all-time list for the number of punches thrown by a middleweight.

In short, Paul Williams is a tough night for anybody. From welterweight to super middleweight, when his name is mentioned, world-class fighters develop phantom pains, head in the opposite direction or develop a case of amnesia. [Click Here To Read More]

Williams ain't really good. I don't really get the hype to be honest. Yes he tall and throws lots of punches but he really ain't this great dominating boxer everyone makes him out to be. Sergio will expose him tonight.

Hah! Floyd doesn't even know who Paul Williams is. The definition of "willful ignorance."

And the myth about Williams being avoided must stop. What about Dzinziruk? He called out Williams more than a year ago. Challenging Paul to fight in USA. Paul went: Sergei who?
No, he didn't. The fight was in place until Pavlik signed the contract at first. And he was in the running to land the fight, but as you know an issue came up with his promoter. Politics is preventing a Dzinziruk-Williams fight from happening and nothing more.

First, whenever he had a chance to make an impact to get known in bouts against Margarito and Winky he won that fights but never did anything outstanding in these bouts to get some attention. For example being the first who knocks these guys out.

For somebody from the outside looking in he's just a very, very tall guy... throwing 100 punches non stop (from which are only 10 or 15 with bad intentions) against opponents who are way smaller then him. He ain't got that Hearns right hand that ppl fell in love with... he simply has nothing special. As soon as he moves up he will find some worthier challenges.

I really don't know why somebody should call him the best WW... if ppl cry about other resumes what has he done at WW? Beat Margarito and that's it. Only because nobody wants to fight him it doesn't mean he's the best. Nobody wanted to fight Margarito too, but he finally got his shot at big time, did what you should do... and afterwards I don't think anybody can say he was short of opponents... as soon as P-Will brings something to the table... there will be enough guys willing to fight him... but I doubt that he ever will bring anything to the table at 147. 154 or probably even MW... but not as WW.
Disagree with most of this. I used to be a Williams detractor. I wasn't overwhelmed with his performance against Margarito (primarily because I've never been too impressed with Margarito), but how anyone came away unimpressed with Williams' performance against Winky is beyond me. Winky may have had some rust, but Williams dominated him from start to finish. He threw multi-punch combinations all night long and barely allowed Wright time to blink, much less throw back. That fight, more than any other IMO, illustrated why guys like Floyd, Cotto and even SSM (how many fighters does Shane duck?) have wanted no part of PWill. He may not be the smoothest fighter out there (he's getting smoother though), but, because of his size, reach and work rate, he is clearly the most dangerous from 147-160lbs. He presents an incredibly difficult matchup for any fighter at those weights. That is why they all pretend like the man doesn't exist. It won't ever happen, but, if it did, I would bet my house that Williams would beat and very possibly KO Floyd. I'd hate to see it, but he'd very likely do the same to Shane.

In all honesty, I think a Dzinziruk-Williams fight in the US would bomb worse that Wright-Williams.

They'd have to dim the lights and paper all kinds of seats to make it look like anyone was there.

For whatever reason, Williams just doesn't put asses in seats, and at times his promoters can be hard to work with according to reports from the Arum's etc.

I am looking forward to an entertaining fight tonight.
Perhaps Martinez can give PWill some problems with his crafty style.

Another thing that I don't agree with is that Williams will get these guys to grow any balls by staying at one weight class. Margarito is an example of a guy who stayed at 147 for practically his whole career and he didn't catch his big break until Cotto got the stones to fight him. But that fight would've never happened if both weren't promoted by Arum and the fact that it was a Mexican-PR match up. People just say this **** to protect their favorite fighters from this guy. Shane Mosley has been pretty inactive here lately while Williams will have fought six times within the last two years.

Chad Dawson is somebody who goes five to eight months in between fights and that is why nobody but a few people care about him. Williams would've fought in October if Pavlik hadn't have pulled the **** he did. With as often as Paul Williams fights, I don't know what more he's got to do to get people to demand the big name fighters give him the shot that he deserves.
