Not having a loss does you no good when you don't have any noteworthy wins.

Byrd's best wins are over Holyfield and Tua.

Vitali's best wins are over Larry Donald, and a FAT Kirk Johnson.

Add to that Vitali lost to Byrd, and there isn't really much left to say.

Vitali spent the majority of his career in Germany fighting WBO ranked opposition.

Lewis fans love to talk about how he was in ****awful shape for that fight but remember that he was originally scheduled to fight Kirk Johnson. Who had Vitali been training for? Cedric Frigging Boswell. Vitali had just as much time to train for Lewis as Lewis had for him. It's a bad argument, period.

You mean the sub par preformance that was good enough to beat a 32 year old Vitali Klitschko?

Yes, Byrd lost to Klitschko Jr.
And Vitali destroyed and was the only one to ever KO Donalld, who beat a washed up Holyfield... something that Byrd couldn't do when Holyfield was fighting him injured. So I guess you can't look at the win over a Holyfield as a good thing on his resume!

So who did Byrd really beat? Struggled and got a win over Tua?

And the SD with McCline? Whom Wlad KOed as well?

          Give me a break!

            Struggled to beat Tua?

You don't need a break, you need to watch these fights before you speak.

Byrd beat Tua 8 rounds to 4.

He also beat Holyfield AFTER Holyfield beat Rahman, the fine fighter Vitali's about to fight next. Holyfield wasn't as far gone as he was when Dondal beat him. He took a beating from Toney prior to that fight.

            LOOK at Vitali's resume.

"Destroying" Larry Donald is impressive, but when its "the" most impressive thing on your resume, that isn't saying a lot.

Byrd wins his fights on paper. Vitali just wins.

Chris was a good boxer in his prime but the guy was far from convincing in his defeat of Oquendo, who is absolutely terrible.

I would take Vitali's stoppage of Sanders and his demolition job of Williams over questionable decisions over Oquendo and Golota without blinking.

That's what I've been trying to say. It's not like he was shot, he was just lazy, and people try to say that he got old.

I don't think very highly of Byrd lately either. But IMO he's got a better resume (career to date) than Vitali.

All I hear is everyone talk about how no one will beat Vitali, and how he'd beat Byrd in a rematch etc.

Until I see him actually do some of these things, I am not sold on him.

He's lost the two most noteworthy fights of his career, and outside of that, his biggest wins are over Larry Donald and a 260 lb Johnosn.

Now he's out until at least Sept/Oct, where he'll probably face Barrett or Rahman.

We could still be having this discussion until this time next year.

Now you're grasping, you're the one saying that Lewis was not the same fighter he used to be, I was just saying he most likely would have been had he taken care of himself.
And you make another good point, VK isn't a kid either. If VK was 42 and LL was 47, ok... but they weren't.
