Lineal titles are not something you can vacate. I dont think Pavlik should be considered middleweight champion either, since he moved up in weight and got his ass beat. Calling Pac the lineal champ seems cheap to me.

I'm not sure why you keep arguing that fact that Hatton was the lineal champion at 140 when Pac met him. This is the same case for Pavlik regardless of his inactivity and choice of opponent. More likely than not, lineal champions are the best in each division. Also, lineal championships are much harder to get than the 4 ORG belts. Only pac has 4.

The JWW line is pretty much stable from KT to Hat. Pac beat the man at the division. Prior to the Pac-Hatton fight, who will you rate higher than hatton in JWW?

if you really want to know how prestigious (or how not prestigious) the ring title or lineal championship is try doing these:

-forget pac has it
-think of a belt that doesn't require any sanctioning fees
-think of a belt that usually defines the best in the division
-think of a belt that can only be won by defeating the previous champion of that belt

now weigh this belt in contrast with the other major belts.
