Byrd actually only stopped moving basically from the VK fight on, because he really had no choice against the Klits, and McCline and I think he tried to prove something against Golota, and Quendo is another defensive fighter like Byrd. In that fight, Byrd was forced to fight because he knew it was too close, so he stepped it up. But he used to move and use the ring for basically the length of his fights.

I agree, I think it'll be a lopsided decision win for Byrd, and after the fight, Toney will be talking **** about Byrd not fighting him, ala Tua.

Yeah, you're probably right. I guess he might win, but this fight is going to be a lot tougher than he thinks.

There are tons of Toney fans right now, but I can't see him fighting but a few more fights before he retires.

Against Booker, he came back 'roided up, I mean he overlifted, and his arms were so tight we was getting massages from his corner in the first third of the fight. If he was fighting a real opponent, he would have been in trouble.

So far he's beaten a fat cruiserweight and a heavyweight with no reflexes. Even his win over Jirov doesn't look that great since Jirov lost to Mesi and Moorer when he came to heavy.

Toney gets injured too often anymore and isn't a true heavyweight. He may pick up a belt and a couple big paydays, but he won't be remembered for his heavyweight career. That'll be a footnote on his career...

I agree that he does get injured way too easily and way to frequently. I also agree with the fact that he may retire soon. I mean he's already 35 years old (or maybe even older.) How much longer will he be around?

lol No kidding, with him being a small heavy that should be way smaller, I'm surprised he's still fighting, at least as a heavy.
And I know, he doesn't have a choice, the power of the twinkie is too strong to resist lol

It wasn't tough at all for RJJ. Why would it be tough for Toney?

Well IMO, RJJ was in much better shape, and would only be a cruiser for that fight by the present weight limits. Roy has always used the ring better than Toney, even at middle, and had the ability to lunge in and get out. Toney never really fought that way, and now he weighs like 230lbs., I think. So, I think Ruiz will get close enough to wrestle him, where he failed to run Roy down and grab him. Toney's only shot IMO is if he can hit Ruiz hard and clean enough to make Ruiz think about running in on him. If he can't, it could be another BS decision win for Ruiz. Don't get me wrong, I hope he does win. I can't stand Ruiz's dirty "style" lol
