    IF - Byrd Vs. Toney

I think this would be one of the most interesting and technical fight to watch in the HW division. Both fighters are quick and skilled, but I see the fight going to a decision.

Who do you think will win?

P.S. This is the fight King should have promoted, not Ruiz! (Not sure if King still promotes Byrd.. I think they had recent legal problems... as does King with everyone)

Are you happy about your karma bar now? Pbds had it "Fixed" for you dude. LOL.

Byrd is way too fast and smart for Toney. Once again, that playing Opossum tactic will not cut it against the slick fighter. Byrd would keep him in the center of the ring exactly where he wants him. Jab on top of the uppercutt, and the whole sandwich, yadi yada.

Its a much closer fight than that.

Toney walked through a lot of Heavy shots from Holyfield, and Holyfield hits a lot harder than Byrd.

Byrd also won a decesion over Holyfield where Toney broke him down and knocked him out.

        Byrd had trouble with Oquendo.

Toney would have more hurt on his punches, and he would find Byrd often.

Byrd's jab and slipping would be effective, but Toney is very elusive as well. Byrd wouldn't be able to land a hurtful shot on Toney, and that would mean it would need to be all activitly.

A close decesion could go either way, and there'd be a remote chance of Toney scoring a late stoppage.

Interesting question though. If Toney beats Ruiz, I think this fight is a very good possibility, because King is now co promoting Toney.

Byrd resigned with Don King. That's what Toney was complaining about in that **********.com interview.

Anyway, who would win the fight? Hmmm...
I can understand the argument knives made, but at the same time Byrd didn't do so well against the last counter-puncher he faced (Oquendo). I would love to see this fight, and for me it would be a toss up more in favor of Toney though. Still a fight, I'd love to see, probably one of the few fights in the heavyweight division, not involving Tyson that I would really love to see.

Byrd would beat James. James can not use his legs anymore like he used to. Holyfield stood there for James and he didnt have to go looking for him. Byrd will not be in the same place, James will have to hunt for the byrd. Aswell Byrd is much faster than James and will not go after James, thus taking james out of his regular fight plan and furthermore taking james out of the fight.............Rockin'

Holy was 137 years old. He has lost most of his punching power, and that showed in his fight with Donald. None whatsoever.

Byrd also won a decesion over Holyfield where Toney broke him down and knocked him out.
These types of comparisons are worthless. Trini knocked Joppy out. Nard went the distance with him. look what happened to Trini against Nard.

              Byrd had trouble with Oquendo.
Oquendo is five times as mobile as Toney

not in the center of the ring he would not.

              yes it would.

Last time Byrd was stopped was when? Ike?

Sorry man, I just see it being a very close fight to call, with a slight edge for Toney.

And if you don't think Holyfield was landing some good shots on Toney you should watch that fight again.

Holyfield hit Toney harder than Byrd ever will.

I'd even say Jirov hits harder than Byrd.

Byrd could be successful, but he would need a huge pace and stellar conditioning to win a decesion. That's possible, but its a very even fight because Toney breaks guys down.

When was the last time Byrd fought someone as skilled and as good a counter puncher as James Toney?

excellent point. I will say though:

as far as this stoppage goes, remember the Tua fight? Byrd ate plenty of big shots..........no effect on him whatsoever.
