as far as this stoppage goes, remember the Tua fight? Byrd ate plenty of big shots..........no effect on him whatsoever.

And he got up from some pretty good shots when Wlad dropped him.

    But,

Toney is more likely than both of those guys were to pound Byrd's rib cage for 8 rounds, and hit him with shots he woudn't see coming (which often do the most damage.

Its unlikely Toney would KO him, but it would be a close competitive fight that I think will go 12.

Byrd and Toney have been sitting next to eachother twice on live TV (Fox BDSSP) and have talked about fighting eachother face to face. Toney looks a lot bigger than Byrd, and Byrd often looks a bit intimidated.

Although that might just be Byrd worried that Toney might try and start something with him on TV.

They both were respectful for the most part, and both said they'd like to fight eachother.

I agree. Bigger Secondarily in the midsection. Byrd has fought guys that Toney would need a step-ladder to shake hands with though.

I agree, Toney has no chance of knocking out Byrd...
Both Klitchko's couldn't do it, Tua couldn't do it..
Even if hurt, Byrd recovers very fast, or at least that's what I have seen so far

I do not see Toney put enough pressure on Byrd for him to go down, or take a knee

I tend to agree with Bozo...

It would most likely go the full distance, if anyone would be stopped it'd be Byrd...

James has more mustard on his punches, but his mobility is questionable...although Byrd is slowing down now too (as evidenced through his fight with McCline)

I think that James' accuracy is excellent and he'd be able to find the slowing Byrd more often with hard punches that would tell the difference in the later rounds.

It really could go either way but I'd favor Toney.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as movement goes don't both of them like moving their upper-body more. Why is everyone talking about footwork and stuff?

Toney is mobile as far as his upper body is concerned, yes. He does move well to avoid immediate punches, and has a good defense, however....he is easier to hit than Byrd.

Chris being a slick southpaw, likes to circle to the left of his opponents, staying away from power shots. He has an excellent combination of upperbody mobility and Footwork to boot.

If Byrd uses the style that best suits him, IMO it's a replay of Byrd vs. Tua. Toney lacks the power that Tua brings, and really isn't much faster on his feet, if any. Toney can counterpunch when his opponent is in front of him, and has no real height or reach advantage, that's why he could never deal with LL or VK, and could only deal with Wlad if he ran out of gas. Sorry, just an opinion, but I think Toney gets another boxing lesson in this one lol
