If Pavlik signs for this fight he should immediately give up his two belts. He cannot keep a worthless stranglehold on his belts by fighting his only meaningful fights above 160.

He is going to get a pass because he is going to fight that useless mandatory, and that gives him license to sit on the belts for another 9-ish months. Watch.

I never said he has the same kind of power above middleweight. In fact, Pavlik isn't the one punch KO guy that some make hm out to be.

However, he did hit Taylor with some nice shots at 166. He did have him covering up for a bit in the second fight, maybe in the first round? I think by Taylor's own admission, he hurt him with a body shot in the ninth. I believe he also hits harder than Andrade at the weight.

Pavlik not only doesn't have on epunch KO power, he also has not head movement or footwork to go along with that. You literally have to stand and fight him in order fo rhim to have any chance at beating you. Any lateral movement will have him panicking.

The thing is though, Andrade did land some right hands of Bute. He did so without using any sort of jab. Pavlik's footwork is average at best and perhaps he's not the same metally post Hopkins, but if Andrade can at least land on him, I think Pavlik could.

I think it's an interesting fight.

Despite getting stopped, Andrade was able to get to Bute a few times. I wonder how Bute would react to getting hit by Pavlik.

Bute took clean shots from Berrio, Bika, & Andrade and was down once (in part due to exhaustion) i think he'll handle Pavlik's punch just fine

Bute is a legit SMW, he has faster hands, moves his feet, gives angles, and has power. Pavlik is a one dimensional and slow fighter.
Bute wins this easily.

At 168, Bute wins this easy. Pavlik is not the same fighter at 168 than what he is at 160. HBO should push Pavlik to fight the winner of Williams-Martinez instead.

I am actaully rooting for Migues Espino to beat Pavlik. I think that would be for the best.
