IDK if its true that you can even said that he threw it. There's a difference between throwing it and really throwing it and Im not just talking about being good. Like Shane throws a ton of jabs but most of them arent real jabs, there just range finders. Thats what Pac looked like he was doing with most of his hooks. He wasnt trying to put anything on it. He was just trying to find the range for the left. Its not like he's going to fight with his right arm tied behind his back

I don't consider sporadic right hooks with Valezquez an example of utilizing his right hand. Cotto fight is a real example of Pacquiao throwing it with confidence and regularity.

i think he just got careless and overconfident with the use of left straight because he just KD jmm 3 times. he was like "all i need was a strong left punch to KO him"

the one that beat lewdwaba and the pacquiao before morales 1, little dude didn't give a damn and literally keeps raping opponents throwing those left hand bombs the entire fight. If he isn't hitting you with that left, he's flurrying the **** out you till you open up so he can check jab + unload that left KO. Watching some of his older fights, he literally has **** for defense but i guess what makes him unhittable on most occasion is his overly aggressive style.. little man just overwhelms the hell of his opponents with flurries and straight lefts relentlessly. His old style was more exciting to watch IMO.

That pac was almost beaten by JMM, today's version of pac is much more dangerous.

my opinion.

if you look at manny's old fights at 112-122 , manny was real sloppy with his hooks and uppercuts. he left himself open and ate a lot of shots because of his lack of technique.

imo that's why roach had him concentrate more on just the jab and straight in the 2001-2003 period. manny wasn't as off balance throwing the jab , straight combo as he was when he use to wing wild hooks and uppercuts.

after the jmm draw , roach started working on his right hook because jmm exposed his vulnerabilities against the elites with just the 1-2 jab , straight.

Pac has brutalized many of his opponents earlier with that right but it wasn't a major weapon as it is now.

first pacquiao fight i ever saw was ledwaba , manong.

i never got to see his younger fights in philippines , thailand , japan , etc.

when i found some of his older fights , i was surprised. manny was sloppier and got hit a lot but he use to throw a lot of right hooks , especially to the body. uppercuts too (wild , wild uppercuts )

all his american televised fights from ledwaba to pac-jmm 1 , all i saw was jabs and straights and rarely any body work.

I agree that roach improved it but it has been thwere since his early boxing days. Another improvement is that he doesn't drag his right foot forward anymore.
