Watching some of his older fights, he literally has **** for defense but i guess what makes him unhittable on most occasion is his overly aggressive style.. little man just overwhelms the hell of his opponents with flurries and straight lefts relentlessly. His old style was more exciting to watch IMO.
You don't think he's raping opponents right now?

roach made him that jab , left , jab , left guy.

it was easier for manny to defend himself and not be so wild when he was just doing the basic jab , straight combo.

then as his control and defense improved roach started adding it back to his arsenal.
no he didnt. Everyone knew Pac was only a one hand fighter. I use to love JMM & Pac and I remember losing respect for both of them after there 1st fight. I thought Pac looked like an idiot throwing the same one punch all night long and JMM was an even bigger idiot for managing to get hit with it all night long when he's supposed to be a brilliant techniqal fighter. Seriously though, everyone knows that Pac only had one hand.

Edit- I just read your whole post. So at what time was he throwing all the hooks? Thats strange if your right that he was throwing alot of hooks before Roach came but Roach took it away until he developed more. If thats true then props to Roach but I always remember him being a one hand fighter

        i think i'm crazy , uncle benny.

for some reason i think the wild pre-roach manny who throws all these shots and would leave himself open throwing hooks to the body might be better to fight floyd.

not as much as he could. manny is soft. if he was more merciless, he would have stopped barerra in the rematch and finished cotto in the 9th. but manny is soft. i hope floyd disrespects pac so he'd go crazy in the ring.

check out his fights at 112 and 122.

obviously he was left hand happy back then too (that's his money punch) but he did throw hooks and uppercuts and body shots.

he wasn't the jab , straight , jab , straight guy you see with ledwaba , julio , barrera , etc.

let me look for that one highlight video that has several of his 112 fights. hold on.

              Really?

You wouldn't take the new Manny over the Old to fight Mr. Pot-shot artist who doesn't want to engage anymore?

That sentiment has been around quite awhile. I
wouldn't be surprised if Pac goes old-school on Floyd,
assuming the fight gets made, and also when the
                in-ring situation calls for it.

                Good old shock and awe:

It ain't so technical, but sometimes "mass attack" works.

pac wasn't really a one handed puncher against lesser opponents:

i don't know. i don't really have any idea right now how this fight will go yet.

the new pacquiao might try to get drawn into a boxing match which he'd probably lose.

after seeing pacquiao's durability against cotto , he has a good enough chin to survive most of floyd's stuff imo.

i'm thinking going wild and just hitting floyd on the top of the head , the shoulders , the arms , the hip , the back of the head , etc. might do the trick.

it's hard to see how this fight will go. how many pacquiao types had floyd faced? how many floyd types had manny faced?

                      that's what i'm thinking , pre.

just throw and throw. hit him everywhere. make him defend everywhere. force a fight.

might be his best shot to beat floyd.
