Manny's recent achievments, plus the speculation and anticipation concerning a Mayweather-Pacquiao matchup

While he was on hiatus, that allowed the UFC to gain some traction while boxing was in a rough patch. Now that he's back people are suddently claiming boxing has made a miraculous comeback. That's no coincidence.
If you think that Mayweather is bigger than Pacquaio, you are delusional.

First of all, this thread is ******. Boxing was never gone, it was fine just where it was. Pacquaio did though, bring new interest to the sport to the casual fan.

People are attracted to styles, Pac has an exciting style. Mayweather is a great fighter but not very exciting to watch for the casual fan.

Oscar De La Hoya brought boxing back.. if he wouldn't of fought Floyd or Pacquiao, hell knows where we would be right now.

I wasn't aware it had gone anywhere.

Ridiculous logic and what does this have to do with anything? You asked what "brought boxing back" and i just broke it down and hit the nail on the head. There is no alternative answer and whether you'll admit it or not, in the back of your mind you probably agree with me.

Boxing has never been away... maybe its because ive followed for a while but i dont see much of a difference now.

But if anything i think it is the huge flux of young talent. These young guys coming out these days are amazing to me and deserve alot of praise. The present and future of boxing is in the hands of the young talent and i think they are to thank...

As much as i love Manny i dont think he has made boxing any different in the states at least. and like someone earlier said the most popular active boxer in america is still floyd mayweather... and thats probably just because he runs them lips.

Who said it was gone, but clearly, boxing wasn't even the same just a few years ago. Sure, the big stars will always draw. But right now, even the smaller events are getting attention.

i think the combination of all those brought boxing back to main stream.

I agree with Abbandon. If dela hoya didnt fight Mayweather and Pacquiao, these guys wouldnt be as popular as they are now.

Mayweather is so big, N*ke signed him up, lol.

What does it mean when a major company like N*ke signs you up?

Floyd's @ss would kill to be signed up with a company like N*ke, that's like every athletes dream.

I mean, just go to some of those boxing equipment websites, do you see Floyd's **** being sold on there?

But they still had to win the fight.

Did Steve Forbes become a hero afterwards ?
