Come on..... Calzaghe said he was at an end just after the Kessler fight, so give him a break. He said he had a few fights left - Roy Jones and Hopkins were his choice and paid him good. He did what you want all fighters to, retire at his peak or when his time seems to be over.

The problem is that he didn't DO ANYTHING before that. How can he be done when he spent his career fighting David Starie and Mario Veit?

Thats a load of rubbish. As people have stated before calzaghe fought everyone who made noise and was any good in the SMW division apart from ottke. Its well documented that at least one substantal offer was made to ottke but he wouldnt fight. The last time RJJ fought at SMW was 1996, hopkins was at middleweight and when he was due to fight he doubled his asking price so you can guess the outcome of that. In 2000 there was talk of a glen johnson v calzaghe fight, but johnson lost to sheika and it was sheika who went on to fight calzaghe next fight. The second time a fight with johnson and calzaghe was done but johnson was unwilling to wait 2 months after a calzaghe injury. Anyone who knows anything about calzaghes career knows hes had injuries and fights have been pushed back. Glen johnson only had to wait 2 months for that fight.

As for winning titles, off the top of my head who was the last undisputed champ of a division, eh, um correct me if im wrong but wasnt it calzaghe LOL, didnt he have all of the belts including the ring belt. He then moved up in weight and beat the number 1 ranked light heavy in his backyard. As for his win over RJJ im not going to in any way say that jones wasnt well over the hill, but calzaghe fans could argue that noone has made jones look that foolish before or after and they have a point imo. I think thats it calzaghes win over jones that people just cant accept for some reason, time to move on

They have a point if they're just ******. Glen Johnson beat up Jones for nine rounds and knocked him into a coma. Antonio Tarver stripped him of his cloak of invincibility with one punch. But no one has made Jones look that foolish? Why because Calzaghe put his hands on hips and dared the old man to hit him? Ok, bud.
