Let's be real here. It was awesome that Joe did that to Roy. A dose of his own medicine. I normally hate such theatrics in the ring, but if there was ever a time were it felt good this was it. Also considering that Jones returned to doing that stuff with poor Jeff Lacy.

I don't know how awesome it was. But I doubt Jones felt more humiliated than when the whole world was waiting for him to get up against Glen Johnson.

In the Johnson fight he didn't know about the humiliation before he reached the dressing room I'm sure....

Yeah the showboating against Roy was fun at the start, but I thought when he took Roy into the deep end of the fight and Roy was playing survival, Joe really didn't need to keep making a fool of Roy. I didn't like that.

I'd be surprised if they've talked since the fight to be honest, even after the way they seemed so friendly before the bout.

Roy had done it himself like 50 times. He got some back there.

You are right Nelson, but as a fan of Joe I just didn't like to see him keep it up with Roy bleeding a river from his eye and trying to hang in there.

But I suppose you're right that Roy has prob done the same thing to many, but I havn't seen all of his early fights so I don't know.

The point im trying to make is that if calzaghe is so rubbish, like a lot seem to portray him as for some reason, he wouldnt have been able to do that, even to an old jones. You have to give credit where credit is due. Im not arguing that calzaghe has the best cv in the world, he clearly doesnt but he did have his own style and was very effective. At least his fights were exciting which is more than can be said for a lot of top guys, then and now
