Serious question, can Miguel Cotto defeat Manny Pacquiao if he has the right plan?

I'm going to have to disagree with a good many of my fellow Filipinos.
ANYONE can get lucky. This is boxing.

Theoretically speaking, if Cotto can get a really good team to train
and coach him out of his bad habits; AND especially if Pacquiao gets
sloppy and falls further off his prime (yes, I said it right after the fight:
Pac is arguably now past his prime), Cotto can grind out a W.

Problem is, Cotto is himself past-prime as well.
Problem is, Cotto is used to being the boss in training camp.
Problem also is, the only trainer out there who accurately saw his
flaws is Roach ---and while Roach can help him in a general sense,
he isn't going to help him against Pac.

he's not gonna beat pacquiao boxing.

his only chance imo is to just rush pacquiao from the beginning and see what happens. either he ko's pacquiao or he gets koed.

new trainer , new gameplan , boxing......that stuff ain't gonna work.

Cotto doesn't train hard enough to go 12 rounds.

All the footage of him working is always him going slow. This is why he gasses so fast.

He needs a trainer that will put him through hell.

          The way Packy does.

cotto can't beat pac. even if he runs he will lose, but if he runs he will make it 12 rounds for sure.

Absolutely. I saw a youtube vid of Pacquiao-Cotto round 3 from a person's camera when they were in the crowd--and Pacquiao was actually hurt when Cotto countered him at one point near the corner. Pacquiao tried to show he wasn't hurt by hitting his head to get back in the game. Cotto should've purely boxed in the entire fight.

i agree that cotto shouldve boxed from the begining. he got into trouble when he traded recklessly with manny, just like jmm in the early rounds vs pac. but jmm adjusted by strictly boxing and counter punching, jmm took his time and eventually he started tagging manny. cotto needs a whole new trainer and team to push him and to work on his flaws. with a jmm type gameplan he can beat pacman.

I'd hope that Cotto learned from his mistakes and will make the hard choices in correcting them. He wasn't doing all that bad early in the fight. He was just not able to recover from that second knockdown.

yeah i saw that one too, and in the hatton fight i saw how manny used his elbow to prevent hatton from roughing him up, pac really learned defensive maneuvers but seriously have ireally seen somebody saying pac is past his prime? what a crazy notion borne out probably of desperation.
