At welterweight, i think he came in thinking that after judah, he would be all good and be able to move onto megafights, but when judah lost, i think his reputation has taken a hit ever since. i think he thought that fighting de la hoya would likely be enough to seal his reputation but the way he fought him didint really win anyone over. not to mention his glory from the ricky hatton knockout was short lived when he took a break and didint fight miguel cotto.

come on , man. just because corrales beat them later on didn't mean floyd didn't need to.

they were #2 and #3 right after mayweather when he was fighting other guys at 130. not to mention they were both undefeated at the time and champions.

casa and freitas had been right below corrales and floyd at 130 since 1999. floyd had how many fights from 1999 'til 2002 when he left for 135.



don't knock spada either. he was top ranked at 135 for years and was a champion for 3-4 years by the time floyd moved to 135. hell by the time floyd moved to 135 spada had TWO belts. the wba and ibf.

I don't believe he ever intended to stay at 135, he didn't want to clean out the entire division, nor did anyone expect him to. Remember he was already talking about fighting Hatton at 140 during the time he fought Diaz? 135 was merely a pit stop before moving on to better things. And please, don't tell me the likes of Campbell would have been any kind of match for Pacquiao. Manny is leagues above, even an idiot knows this.

manny fighting 1 time at 135 and not fighting the best in that division is the equivalent of floyd fighting 8-9 times at 140 and 147 and not fighting the next best guy in either division.
