Pacquiao's lack of defense concerns me.

Watching again, I realized Cotto was far more effective offensively than I remembered. He was hitting Pacquiao with flush punches all night. Pacquiao's only real defense was to stick his hands straight up. Not a lot of slipping, dodging, or anything really. He basically figured out Cotto could not hurt him, and walked straight through everything. In his career, and against Cotto, he's been able to do this because of his speed and his overall offense. His chin is incredible clearly, and it's going to be tough for anyone to hurt him.

However, this concerns me about his chances in a Mayweather fight. Mayweather is not looking for a KO like most fighters, so whether Pac can take his punch will not matter as much. The point is, that Mayweather will probably be landing on Pacquiao, a lot. Mayweather landed 59% against Marquez, while Pacquiao landed only 23% on Marquez.

The question is whether you think Pacquiao can land enough on Mayweather, even though he's going to get hit a lot against Floyd. That, or you're hoping for a KO.
You have to remember Pacquiao attacks and throw a lot of punches compare to PBF. Just like what JMM said, Pac comes to fight.

As far as his defense, it sucks against Cotto. Even in a close fight against JMM, Pac had a better defense than against Cotto.

Thats why I asked you this questions:

1.) Did you ever think that Manny doesn't have the speed also? Yes he does

2.) Whom do you think has the faster hand speed. Manny or Floyd? Manny, but Floyd has better reflexes

3.) Have you ever think that Manny speed can't hit Floyd with a punch? Of course he can hit Floyd. JMM hit Floyd. Gatti hit Floyd.

I was just asking questions to you dans01234. Are my questions so hard to be answered?
Fine, I'll answer your questions even though it's completely irrelevent to the point I was making.

Oh and my point, to be clear, was that Cotto is the stronger puncher than Floyd, but Floyd is the more devastating puncher because of his speed. Again, I wasn't even talking about Pacquiao.

Personally, I thnk that Pac went into the Cotto fight expecting to get battered alot. People were going on about how much bigger and stronger Cotto is; Pac was being more "carefull" than he should of been. When he fights Mayweather he'll go fullout, like he went against Hatton.

Ps. "carefull" doesn't mean defensive. He wasn't confident enough. At first he didn't fight his fight, he went with Cotto; only later realising Cotto couldn't "touch" him.

Pacman is average defense at best. Don't give me this bull**** he was testing Cotto's power, if he did, it was only when he was on teh ropes. The man gets tagged every fight he's been in. Against a sharp shooter like Mayweather, hes going to be eating up a lot of clean punches.

if you kno ho to read fights, you'll get this. It's called psychological warfare. He only did this with cotto. he's shown cotto that he can not hurt him and that affected cotto mentally even perhaps floyd. Manny is that good, he's always a step ahead.

Yes, but the particular point I was making was concerning Floyd and Cotto's punching power.

He's not going to beat Floyd boxing on the outside
And he won't have the chance to exchange wildly like he did against Marquez on the inside, everytime he comes in close Floyd will just land single shots and get out of there
Roach needs a very good gameplan if the fight is ever made with Floyd.
