You know people do things like come into appreciation threads and make a negative statement without expressing their true opinion.

How did you feel when you opened this thread ????
I was going to give props to whatever black fighters you listed but then you make it sound like black american fighters arent getting their due respect and are subjected to some kind of racial profiling that noone else is.

That's what I took issue with.

All you have to do is look at the list of all time greats. It's filled with black american fighters. In boxing it's black americans that set the standard. And when a fighter that isnt african american reaches or exceeds those standards it's african american fans that get all butthurt and subject them to double standards in my opinion.

Look at great european fighters. African American fans are so quick to label them bums because they fight in Europe and not in America even though all the top fighters in the upper weights are from europe, not america.

Look at Latin fighters. African American fans are so quick to label them brawlers with alot of courage but little skill because they would rather slug it out at times and ignore defense.

Look at the asian fighters. African american fans are so quick to call asian fighters like Pacquiao a midget even though he's been the same height or taller than almost all of his opponents except for delahoya and morales.

The worst part about it is we hate on ourselves more than other races do. This isn't aimed at anybody more so an observation that pisses me off a bit, but what can I do but call attention to it ?

Pac gets his props and latinos get their props. U.K has a country behind them but they don't get their props easily.

Hey man you should start the thread.

When it comes to anything in life I'm color blind. I judge on what I like and don't like personally. Color is irrelevant. I dislike Paulie Mallignaggi and Paul Spadafora as much as I do Floyd, and Im Italian. No need to start another ******ed thread.

You can try and not sound like the world owes black fighters something when they dont.

Boxing is a "what have you done for me lately" sport. It's also more global than it was during boxing's golden era as well. Now that international talent is getting just as much coverage and as many opportunities as american fighters they're taking it and running with it and we're seeing that there's great fighters from all over the world.

If a black fighter that's a beast of a fighter comes along with the personality fitting of a champion he will capture the heart of the american public and get his due props. Shane Mosley is a hell of a guy both inside and outside of the ring.

Unfortunately for black americans at the moment however. The most prominent figure in boxing is a hell of a fighter but is a whiny child and a horrible representation of black american culture.

while all this is true, he still gets his props as a fighter. Nobody is going to salute an asshole, no matter what color they are. That is what makes this thread not only ridiculous, but racist in itself.
