Black American Fighter Appreciation Thread

Black boxing back in the day I can appreciate, back when they had balls, NOT this modern day "defensive" boxing black people has to give. No excitement, waste of time, ripoff and boring. This style doesnt have room or deserving of PPVs. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Our fighter rarely get the benefit of the doubt in any situation. We have arguably made boxing the sport it is today. Some of us have not only mastered the science but we've developed our own styles of hand to hand combat in which few will ever be able to mimic successfully.

My problem is because we've done so well in this sport our fighter are largely underrated and hated passionately by other countries and races of people. Most races had lost interest in boxing due to our dominance over the years and as soon as they get 1 good contender they act as if this contender is above all.

People fault black champions for being ****y or having ego's but rarely think about the dilemma a black champion faces when he can't do PPV #'s. When a black champion completely cleans out his division and moves up in weight where he continues to dominate nobody gives a **** but when a fighter of another race does the same they act like it's the reincarnation of Jesus.

Right now the boxing world has a lot of good fighters from all over the world stepping up to the world stage and they are doing great. I love the way Manny fights and while I enjoy Kessler's style more than Joe's nobody can deny what Joe has accomplished. Hatton was not a great boxer but he was a beast of a fighter, but it bothered me how nobody was in Vegas supporting Floyd when the Brits invaded.

Look at RJJ. As dominate as he was everytime his name was brought people would claim he was overratted...smh

floyd has done NOTHING since he moved up to 140 and 147. he's a cherry picker and an opportunist. he beat up a shot gatti, a lucky bum in baldomir, a judah that just came from losing to a bum, a not shot but clearly past prime de la hoya, a 140 champ on 147, where he had already struggled and almost gotten KO'd, and last but not least, a guy whose prime weight is 130 and campaigned at 135 while struggling

Cotto won 2 VACANT titles from bums.He "beat" an old Mosley in which many felt he should have lost.Ran from Mosley for 3-4 rounds.Fought a zab when he was already past it,Avoided Paul williams.Floyd wanted to fight him at 140 but his team did`nt want Cotto to be a sacrificial lamb and Cotto obviously did`nt want to be either.Shane asked him for a rematch cause the first fight could have went either way, Cotto avoided it.Cotto struggled against Clottey and got a gift,and lost to a bum named Margarito.

Cotto Would`nt say Floyd name when Larry Merchant told Cotto to call him out.Don`t say Cotto never call anybody out cause he said he wanted to fight Delahoya.

cotto fought clottey (avoided), margarito (avoided), mosley, quintana (the only guy to beat the avoided freak PW)

margarito a bum? he was a successful title holder with great wins against undefeated people (cintron was undefeated, clottey's sole loss was a DQ). compare that to baldomir, whose only successful title defense was against... GATTI
