Kessler might a have a rough time from here on in, thanks to Ward cutting his eyes up. If those cuts reopen, who knows.

Not writing him off, but Kessler isn't what he was two days ago, never mind two years ago.

**** like that happens when Ward was the one having the tougher fights the past couple of fights. It was ward who had a fight recently against Miranda. Kesslers last 3 fights have been against soft-ass opposition.

Oh, I agree. Hence my post here:

There's something to consider here, and it's not an excuse, it is a fact: Kessler has been fairly inactive since the Calzaghe fight, which was a little over two years ago. No thanks to Palle, he hasn't had a single competitive fight since then, only beating lackluster opponents and mandatory challengers who didn't really deserve to be in the same ring. In between this, he's been through a ton of legal crap while trying to break free of his contract with Palle for the reason that he wasn't getting good fights. This would be a major distraction to any fighter.

I may or may have not picked Ward to win still, but I did and I won 200,000k points because of it. But I'm sure those Head-butts helped make the fight a bit more one-sided looking then it should have been.

It's not like Kessler's done. The thing is that he is still in his prime(maybe slightly past his prime) but it looked as if he's done because he was exposed yesterday.

It took a real fighter to show us who Kessler really was. Fighter's like Mundine and the rest of the cab-drivers he fought are the reason Kessler was so over-hyped till this day. Ofcourse the Calzaghe fight and the fact that he was white has something to do with it as well, but Calzaghe is an overrated fighter himself

The point of this post is that Kessler was never as good as everyone believed he was. He just never fought anybody good

You clearly never boxed before, those headbutts the other day were brutal. Even if they were accidental it helped make the fight one more sided then it really was.

Why write off any fighter who loses a fight? So called fans of the sport are always so quick to dump a fighter into the trash over a loss. Over the last few years this mindset has become more frequent.

I'm glad it has not always been this way, otherwise we would have written off Pacquiao, Hopkins, Robinson, Hagler, Hearns, Duran, etc. long before they became names.

Whether Kessler can overcome his loss time will tell. What if taylor gets it together and knocks out Ward next fight? Is Taylor still written off or is he rejuvinated. Is Ward then to be tossed into the trash? It is all so silly.

I for one like Taylor and Kessler and will continue to watch them fight. If they can get back their form all the better, but it is not the end of the world if they do not. They both already had great careers so this is all just gravy for them.

I'm sick of the race for ATG and P4P ****. I believe this is the virus that is ruining the sport as much as 400 available belts. People act like that is all that matters. What truly matters is the stories, the hardship, dedication and willingness to give it your all.

Wait for a fighter to retire and then we can rank him all time. it is not all about what they achieve, but also about what they give.

Calzaghe isn't overrated. He's a solid ATG fighter.
