If everyone tuned in to see Oscar vs Floyd then why did Pac with his HUGE fan base and Oscar with his HUGE fanbase do much less than Oscar & Mayweather?

Only fools on this forum think nobody wants to see the best technical pure boxer of this era. TRUE Boxing fans have witnessed all of the great from way back, they know Mayweather is a legend & ATG Boxer. The public knows that as well. Fact is he is an attraction, he is an american boxer, his skills are incredible, he is entertaining and he backs up his **** talking in the ring. Thats what people love and hate about Mayweather
You're logic is to take everything out of context without mentioning the reasoning behind what happened to favor your argument.

You forgot to mention that DLH/Mayweather was marketed as "The fight to save boxing" from both the DLH camp and Mayweather camp. You forgot to mention that this fight came during a period where boxing was in stale state providing nothing for the casual fans. You forgot to mention that this fight introduced the 24/7 series for the first time giving casual fans a cinematic glimpse at what goes on behinds the scenes with dramatic music and clever and artistic editing.

How was it not going to do 2.5 mill after that? Of course it will fail to replicate the same kind of numbers after the first installment. Its incredibly difficult to keep something fresh especially when there are repeating elements.

But go ahead. Keep posting stats and what not. I'm sure it must be frustrating to have a perspective thats in the minority and of no true consequence.

it doesnt matter how it was marketed...if people say mayweather has no fans and he is boring and he isnt a draw...why do they fans still pay to see him? Are you saying boxing fans are that gullible to look at the title of a promotion and order a fight with a running boxer that is scared to fight good fighters and has a boring style?

Once again i ask you..why did Manny(who was P4P #1) after DLH was coming off the biggest PPV bout in boxing fight Oscar and do 1.25 PPV's?...Ko's Oscar...KO's Hatton then does 1.25 vs Cotto....

has his star power not risen since the DLH fight?

I think it also hurt Boxing. The 24/7 was compelling with the trash talk and all, and with Floyd promising a BEATDOWN...lol... but come fight night it never came. Floyd was brilliant offensively on a few occasions but there wasn't much "spontaneous combustion" as Merchant would've put it.

I think he could've put on the hurt on Oscar and given the fans a better show, to be honest, but like you said "styles make fights..." and his style is self-preservation.
